The Widowmaker Podcast

Maybe the best episode ever?  In Episode 27 of The Widowmaker Podcast, Mike and Surly Dan go it alone after a last minute guest cancellation.  They talk about their first unsuccessful turkey hunt of the season, but outside of that it's mostly stories, jokes and general nonsense.  Enjoy! 

In Episode 26 of The Widowmaker Podcast, Mike and Surly Dan are joined by Joe who is one half of the Hold My Beer Outdoors boys (Fretzy and Geoff took the night off).  After battling audio issues for 7 minutes (bare with us) we get it together and have a great chat about hunting in Alberta vs. Ontario.  As is always the case, we find ourselves talking about food again.  Join us as we discuss various methods of preparing wild game.

Episode 25 of The Widowmaker Podcast features long time friend of the show, Jenny Ma.  Jenny is the host of the Wake Up With Jenny and Friends morning show podcast.  She is also the owner of Oh Cheeky Monkey greeting cards.  Most notably, Jenny is a certified CBT (cognitive behavior therapist) and operates the Mindful Health Clinic.  In  this episode of the podcast we get semi serious for two minutes and have a chat about keeping your mental health in check and taking the time to reconnect with yourself through nature.  Don't worry there are still plenty of  jokes and nonsense banter.  Enjoy!

Bailey Lubberdink is pro staff with Stix & Stones (outdoor apparel).  He also operates Upper North Outfitters out of Barrie Ontario.  This man is wealth of knowledge when is comes to turkey hunting and that is evident in this podcast.  Mike, Surly and Fretzy talk turkey with Bailey in addition to debriefing the Toronto Sportsmen Show.  We also get to hear from the 'Boss Hen'.  Good times!

Just the three of us knockin back some pints and telling stories.  Widowmaker Supply owners, Mike, Fretzy and Surly Dan have been celebrating St Patrick's Day together for many many years.  It is very evident in this podcast.  If you like drinking at a bar with friends, you will love this episode of The Widowmaker Podcast.

Mike and Surly Dan are joined by The Other Mike and they basically do nothing but shoot the $h!t and reminisce of the good times had in New Orleans.  I guess you can call it a travel guide? Or maybe you call just call it entertainment!  Enjoy and listen responsibly.

Episode 20 of The Widowmaker Podcast features Damian of Commander Outdoors.  Commander Outdoors is an established off road YouTube page featuring the best in ATV and side by side riding.  Get it stuck.  Get it unstuck.  Fix it.  That's the bulk of the discussion.  Also a deep dive into James Bond vs. Jason Bourne.  

Mike and Surly are joined by podcast regular, Steve to celebrate the awesomeness that is cured meat.  This episode was recorded during the annual Widowmaker Meat Weekend.  After day one clean up, the boys share all that they have learned about the process of butchering and curing meat.  As always, hilarity ensues........(note: no one on this podcast is a professional butcher or chef.  Everything discussed in this podcast are the opinions and experiences of amateur/at home butchers/cooks.  Do some of your own research before doing any of the $#!t discussed in this podcast)

Due to a last minute guest rescheduling; Mike, Surly and Fretzy go it alone and unscripted.  This ended up being a happy little mistake as it was one hell of a unique podcast.  We talk about everything from making moonshine with mink dicks to the mispronunciation of  the word milk?
