In this episode Lucy explores the impact of Scottish Apology to Witches, and shares the very eerie faery tale of the Reverend Robert Kirk, the preacher who was taken away by the fae. The author of The Secret Commonwealth of Elves, Fauns and Faeries, this reverend has had a profound influence on the relationship between humans and faerie beings. Lucy untangles the twisted history of his abduction and legend, and why both had such a profound impact on Witches and elementals alike. Then we move to song! Your voice is one of your most sacred and powerful magickal tools you could have, Witch - yet throughout history, women’s voices have often been forbidden, encapsulated perfectly by the demonisation of the mermaid and her song.
