After all the discussion and focus on the physical and historical birth of Jesus Christ this Christmas season, we decided to focus on the one Gospel that starts out a little different.  John's Gospel starts out "In the beginning, just like Genesis".  His focus is on the eternal existence of Jesus Christ and His manifestation as the Word, the Light, and the Truth.  Part 1 of 2.

We start the new year off talking about Daniel's connection to the Feast of the Epiphany (The three wise men or Magi).  In fact if not for Daniel's obedience in difficult times, would the Magi even known to present gifts to Jesus?  We get into this and the importance of obedience to God and maintaining your integrity, no matter what your circumstances.

Well, it's been a week and so this episode is going to be part of the audiobook version of The Christian Self-Defense Manual that Bones and C-Dub Wrote back in 2019 and 2020.  Our topic is the Mission and knowing what we're supposed to be doing for God.

We get into a discussion of Matthew 11 where Jesus, in His discourse on John the Baptist says that from the time of John the Baptist until now, the Kingdom of Heaven suffers violence and the violent take it by force.  We both have experience in high threat environments and in this episode, we talk about the difference between physical and spiritual violence and how this can look different from how a large section of Christianity looks today.

We finish up our discussion we started in our last episode by getting into what ministry-real ministry looks like.   For us, it sure hasn't been as organized as it's often presented for the public.  And for the discussion about management of our faith by other people, the question needs to be asked: How often are we missing opportunities to be vessels God is using to reach people for Him because we let other people dictate how God can and can't use us?  Isn't the Word sufficient enough to let us know? How about the Holy Spirit?

Bones coined a term back in the day where he referred to people trying to "manage your faith" rather than help you grow your faith.  I was recently having a discussion of this very thing with a family member and thought it would be a pretty good topic to talk about, especially since we've been seeing a more concerted effort as of late by people to do so.  Never let them take the liberty you have in Christ Jesus. Oh, and if you have some sacred cows in your life, we're probably going to tip them this episode......
