    The Senate Intelligence committee has posted a written statement by former FBI director James Comey about his dealings with US President Donald Trump. In it, he alleges that Trump put pressure on him to halt his investigation into then National Security Advisor Michael Flynn. The allegations are part of Mr Comey's testimony to the Senate committee investigating possible collusion between Donald Trump's campaign team and Russia.

    British voters will head to the polls in just a few hours. Opinion polls suggest a win for Prime Minister Theresa May but they vary on the size of the margin. In a campaign overshadowed by terrorism, the Prime Minister used her final campaign speech to frame the vote as a critical choice about the direction of the country, while Jeremy Corbyn says his party has set out a manifesto for 'the many, not the few'.

    British opinion polls are diverging widely over just how the voters will cast their ballots in tomorrow's election. Some surveys suggest a massive Conservative victory is on the cards - others say the race is far too close to call. ABC Election Analyst Antony Green is in London for the vote; he says the opinion polls are less accurate in the UK than in Australia because lack of preferential voting makes predicting which voters were going to turn out more difficult.

    The North Korean regime is turning up its military showmanship again - firing a barrage of missiles from its east coast. It appears they were surface to ship missiles, but at this stage, the South Korean military say they can't tell how many were fired. They do know that the missiles travelled about 200 kilometres before landing in the sea.

  • Tehran rocked by a rare terrorist attack, amid heightened regional tensions
    The Islamic State group is claiming responsibility for a terrorist strike at the heart of Shia Islam. Overnight, gunmen and suicide bombers attacked the parliament of Iran and a shrine in the Iranian capital, killing at least 12 people. Iran's revolutionary guard is blaming Saudi Arabia. US President Donald Trump expressed his condolences to the victims. He also said 'States that sponsor terrorism risk falling victim to the evil they promote'. Lowy Institute's deputy director Anthony Bubalo says the Trump administration, encouraged by allies Saudi Arabia and Israel, is concerned about Iran's spreading influence in the region.

  • 'Justice has been denied': PNG students fired at by police protest lack of progress in inquiry
    It's a year since a group of university students in Papua New Guinea were fired on by police outside the University of Papua New Guinea - and they're still waiting for justice. The students were protesting against Prime Minister Peter O'Neill and dozens were injured when police opened fire with bullets and teargas. Two investigations into the incident are yet to report and Mr O'Neill is up for re-election this month.

  • More support needed for young kidney disease sufferers
    Health authorities in Australia are worried that people aged 16-23 who have chronic kidney disease are not getting the support and advice they need to make the right health decisions. To overcome that, the Medicare Benefits Schedule Review Taskforce has recommended significant changes be made, including that an intergovernmental taskforce be set up to identify weaknesses, and for more stable funding to be put into helping those in need. Kidney support groups say hundreds of Aussies get a kidney transplant each year, and ignoring the problem is not an option.

    Harry Bennett is Australia's oldest living survivor of the stolen generations and he's turned 100. Harry was taken from his mother when he was four and despite a long search for her, they never reunited. Although he's gone through so much tragedy, he says the secret to a long life is to stop worried.
