But Investigators are warning that they fear Abedi was part of a much bigger network. And they say they're racing against time to catch all those behind the attack.

    Australia's High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Alexander Downer, has issued a warning to Australians in Britain to avoid crowded events like football matches. Mr Downer had just been briefed by British intelligence agencies. He said the Manchester bomber was not a 'lone wolf', but had connections to several terrorist groups. The sophistication of the bomb also suggests he had had some training.

    ME Bank chief executive Jamie McPhee says the 'too big to fail' status held by Australia's major banks is outdated. Mr McPhee told The World Today that the implicit government guarantee for the Big Four banks puts second tier banks at a competitive disadvantage. Mr McPhee told the ABC's Peter Ryan that a royal commission into banks might be necessary but only if self-regulation fails.

  • Contractor fears installer could die during NBN rollout
    A contractor working on the National Broadband Network says he fears an installer could die during the rollout because of lax safety standards. The whistleblower says he's expected to work alone in remote areas and has been told if he falls off a roof - it would be up to sometimes elderly property owners to rescue him. He also says the project is riddled with inefficiencies.
