    The Prime Minister is accusing Labor of twisting his words over the gas crisis. The Federal Government has announced it will restrict gas exports if Australia is low on supply. Labor claims Malcolm Turnbull implied prices would drop for manufacturers and households under the changes. Mr Turnbull denies that's the case, explaining the wholesale price will only halve for some manufacturers.

    Former NT Chief Minister Adam Giles today said in evidence it wasn't really until after the royal commission had been called that he came to understand the problems in youth justice and what had, and hadn't been done to improve things. Mr Giles was asked about a tour of Don Dale he undertook long before Four Corners brought it to the national spotlight, but could not recall key details like whether he had seen children in isolation cells.

As Malcolm Turnbull prepares to meet US President Donald Trump one terrorism expert is warning about the uncertain security environment in the war torn nation. Bill Roggio is a senior fellow at The Foundation for Defense of Demcoracies and he's just given evidence to the US House Foreign Affairs sub committee about Afghanistan, telling members that Al Qaeda remains a persistent and significant presence, along with the Taliban.
