A day 590 days in the making is here! Australias International border has been closed since March 20, 2020 and today it is open!
To celebrate the day, I am joined by 3 different avid travellers to discuss some of their experiences overseas as we all can start re-discovering the joys of our long lost pal, Travel.
Before we get to the stories though, it wouldn't be the World Uncut without speaking some truth to power, and I need to remind everyone what this border closure has done to our own citizens stranded overseas, and what this means to them.
Then we get in to the fun stuff!
First up is Mitch, a YouTube creator and massive foodie, who combines those two passions on his channel 'Mitch Eats'. Mitch shares stories of eating at a Michelin Star Restaurant in Japan, travelling to 46 of the 50 US States while trying each states signature dish and some travel, and food, fails along the way!
Second on the menu, we have pod regular Jess to give us the lowdown on how her bosses terms of employment led to her life overseas, her La Tomatina experience, being denied boarding, getting mugged in Buenos Aires and the story of the whole reason she even went to South America, the Nazca Lines.
Last but far from least, I am joined by Shannon 'Shaz' Carter who shares his experience as a first time traveller going to Malaysia and Thailand with yours truly. There's forgotten lost wallets, pimps, ferry chaos and advice for first time travellers, and hell, we all feel like that again after 590 days trapped on Alcatraz!
