Pray for persecuted Chinese Christians during Beijing Olympics

Communist China is hosting the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games between February 4th and February 20th

In recent years led by President Xi Jinping hundreds of churches have been forced to close pastors and church members have been arrested or detained and the online sale of Bibles has been prohibited A campaign to remove crosses from churches continues in one province

Plus the government has installed more than 170 million facial recognition cameras many in or near churches in an effort to identify those who attend worship services

The Worldview spoke with Todd Nettleton with Voice of the Martyrs about their encouragement to remember to pray for our Chinese brothers and sisters in Christ who are being persecuted for their faith

NETTLETON Xi Jinping at the national government level is driving this persecution driving these attacks against our Christian brothers and sisters I have heard that the stated goal of the Chinese government is to be able to locate and identify anyone on Chinese soil within three seconds So that is the nature of the surveillance thats the nature of the spying on everybody every place every time wherever theyre at

But the Christians are using that I spoke with a pastor in China and he said he challenges the men in his church He says Listen the government is watching you Make sure that theyre seeing what it looks like to be a disciple of Christ

Nettleton explained the motivation behind the persecution of Christians

NETTLETON The Chinese government uses the surveillance footage and all of the information that they collect to control the hearts and minds of the people They want you to understand that being a good Communist is your first priority in life And if you say I love my country I pray for the leaders of my country But my first priority is to follow Jesus They see that as a direct threat And so they want to know what are you doing Where are you going Who are you meeting with that would encourage you in their minds to be disloyal to the Communist Party

YouTube censors MacArthurs sermon opposing transgenderism

YouTube has censored a Bible-based sermon labeling it as hate speech because it does not celebrate gender confusion reports CBN News

Pastor John MacArthur of Grace Community Church in Los Angeles CA preached a sermon Sunday about biblical sexuality which was part of an effort by pastors across North America to protest a new Canadian law that took effect Jan 8 after being pushed through Parliament with little debate

The concern is that Canadas Bill C-4 is broadly worded and could in effect ban biblical teachings on sexual ethics and might even limit personal communications on the subject Four thousand pastors preached against the unbiblical law from their pulpits Fox News reported

According to Liberty Coalition Canada the bills wording is broad enough to allow for the criminal prosecution of Christians who would speak biblical truth into the lives of those in bondage to sexual sins like homosexuality and transgenderism

Mob of 200 Attacks House Church in Central India

On January 9 a house church in Indias Chhattisgarh state was brutally attacked by a mob of radical Hindu nationalists reports International Christian Concern

According to Pastor Hemanth Kandapan the attack began when a single radical named Sanjith Ng broke into the worship service Once inside he began to beat members of the congregation and Pastor Kandapan dragging him outside where a mob of 200 had gathered
