Chinese pastor bravely refuses to stop preaching

The Bible Reformed Church a house church in Chinas southern Guangdong province was holding a service this past Sunday morning when more than 10 police officers broke into it without permission and ordered the pastor Huang Xiaoning to stop preaching reports China Aid

With Holy Spirit-inspired boldness the pastor said You dont know the severe transgression you have committed by interrupting the sacred worship I will cooperate with you after my sermon

By a vote of 25 to 11 the California Senate has passed the infamous AB 2943 bill which would make illegal any attempt to help people who are experiencing unwanted homosexual desire and possibly challenge them to turn to Christ

Republican Senator Joel Anderson made a very clear argument against the bill from the floor

Tibet outlaws attempts to convert to Christianity

California is not the only place that is outlawing conversions

The nation of Tibet incorporated a new civil and criminal code in which Christian conversions will be banned by law Anybody who encourages or is involved in religious conversion will face a jail term of five years and a 50000 fine Any foreigner found guilty of such practice will be deported within a week

Popes open letter about Catholic abuser-priests

The Pope in Rome has now recognized the disintegration of the reputation of the Roman Catholic Church with an open letter released over the weekend acknowledging the harm done in the widespread sexual abuse of children

This comes on the heels of a nightmarish Grand Jury report released in the State of Pennsylvania detailing how 301 priests abused more than 1000 children over decadesThe report details how the church leadership protected the perpetrators

One online petition is calling for all United States bishops to resign as a public act of repentance and lamentation before God The petition notes that The catastrophic scale and historical magnitude of the abuse makes clear that this is not a case of a few bad apples but rather a radical systemic injustice manifested at every level of the Church

The torture and dramatic escape of an Egyptian Christian

Coming from a prominent family of Muslim lawyers Majed El Shafie said he was 18 when he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1996 He didnt waste time in following the Great Commission and launched an organization that advocated for equal rights for religious minorities in Egypt It grew to over 24000 people in just two years

On August 15 1998 he was arrested reports The Christian Post

After Shafie was tortured in CairosAbu Zabal Prisonfor seven days he was told by a guard that he would be free to go and given any car house and pretty girl of his dreams if he would just give up the names of his brothers and sisters in Christ

After fooling the guard into thinking that he was going to tell him the names of his friends in exchange for a good meal of shish kebab the only name that Shafie uttered was that of the organizations true leader Jesus Christ

What followed was another brutal attack by the guard and three more days of torture and imprisonment

Shafie said They started by shaving my hair off my head putting my head in buckets of cold and hot water hanging me upside down On the third day they released dogs to attack me but the dogs didnt attack After that they tied his hands to a cross for two days And then they made a cut on the back of my left shoulder to the bones and they rubbed salt in my open wound I almost died

Shafie was sentenced to death and sent to a police hospital for three months of recovery

In Gods providence Shafie ultimately escaped on a jet ski on the Mediterranean Sea making it to Israel and found asylum in Canada in 2002 thanks to the pressure of human rights groups

Shafie who was the focus of the 2012 documentary Freedom Fighter started One Free World International which has helped over 600 women and children who were held hostage by the Islamic State terrorist organization in Iraq as sex slaves

Trump revokes security clearance of former CIA Director

President Donald Trump revoked the top security clearance of Ex-CIA Director John Brennan Until Tucker Carlson of the Fox News Channel reported it the American people had been unaware that he and many other former government officials still retained access to such top secret information after their official duties had ended

Tucker Carlson Its not clear why any of these men still have legal access to classified material The fact that they retained that power after leaving government for the private sector and punditry is bizarre Brennan is an out-of-the-closet extremist This is not a man who should have a security clearance Just a few weeks ago he accused the President of treason for daring to hold a press conference with a foreign leader Keep in mind that treason is a death penalty offense Responsible people do not make that charge for political reasons Brennan called the loss of his clearance an effort to suppress freedom of speech
