The Worst Time Podcast episodes

  • #30 - Matt Dyson
Radio fans are in for a treat this week as radio legend (and the second most unconventionally good-looking man in the UK, according to Heat World’s 2021 Secret Crush list) Matt Dyson swings by to share his worst times with Chris on the podcast!

He recounts multiple wireless-related tales including why you shouldn’t corpse whilst reading the news, why you need to be very careful pronouncing Benedict Cumberbatch’s name and how he won a defamation case against a big newspaper (but then remembered that as part of the terms he couldn’t disclose the fee and it needed to be bleeped in the podcast edit). Plus – free champagne, rogue tech ops, bitchy commercial radio presenters and getting in trouble on live TV. It’s a busy episode so strap in tight!

You can hear Matt every weekday morning on Absolute Radio on the Dave Berry Breakfast Show, do check it out!

  • #29 - Lauren Layfield
Presenter, DJ, author, podcast host and so much more - the multi-talented Lauren Layfield joins Chris to share her worst tales on the podcast!

Lauren recounts an eventful marriage proposal in Thailand and how to manage doing live TV as you wait for Busted to appear. Plus, train etiquette is discussed at length - the pair agree that playing audio loudly from your phone is just not on and also what body parts you absolutely cannot place on a train seat. And of course, that viral TV clip with Hacker T Dog gets a mention!

Lauren has written a book, it’s called Indi Raye Is Totally Faking it and it’s available in all good bookshops – go grab a copy! Plus you can listen to her podcast This Next Podcast on all podcast platforms (and hopefully The Worst Time Podcast will be featuring on it very shortly).

  • #27 - Fella
It’s a wild ride this week as comedian & performer Fella brings her firecracker energy to the Worst Time Podcast by chatting to Chris from a random park in London. Who needs studios?!

Fella introduces three categories to the podcast that have never been featured before and probably never will again – worst bum, worst blozza and worst Blobby. AKA the holy trinity of worst Bs. Plus she reveals what her new full legal name is, and it really is quite something. It also goes without saying that this is a frightfully blue episode.

Fella is taking a break from putting on live events (mainly due to the Blobby escapade), but she has a YouTube documentary called Fella’s Big Ride To The Eddy Fringe which is well worth checking out whilst you eat your dinner.
