Dr. Anthony Batts is an educator, author, and literacy advocate. He is the author of “Deuce: A Second Chance at life” recounts the events of an young black man who navigates childhood depression, issues of self-confidence and self-consiousness to find an eventual latent appreciation towards his journey of life. This book shows how a person can grow to conquer hardships, despite enduring the weight of poverty, failed mentorship, while also searching for and discovering identity. I am a firm believer Black men need to have space for their stories to be told, and be reminded they can always tell them!
