The word "Marketing" has become a scary word for so many authors. If given a choice, most authors would outsource their marketing to someone else but if we are ever going to grow and sell more books then we need to change that negative mindset. In this episode I highlight a few important things about marketing from Ricardo Fayet's new book, "How To Market A Book' - Overperform In A Crowded Market.
- The responsibility of marketing your book falls solely on you even if you have gone the traditional publishing route.
- Marketing in simple terms is the act of telling as many people about the book you have written.
- Marketing is a skill that needs to be learned and can be learned.
- As an Indie Author you need to adopt an attitude of learning.

Rolain.
In this episode I talk about the things that stop us from writing such as fear of the unknown.
"Will my book be any good?'
"Will anyone buy my book?'
"What will people think about my book?"
And so many other things.
The most important step in writing, is writing.
Tune out the negative voices and get started.
You have something worthwhile to say and there are people that need what you have so don't let anything stop you.

I would love to hear your thoughts on the episode.
What resonated with you?
What fears are you facing on your writing journey?
Let's talk.
In this introductory episode I talk about my journey as an Indie author (which has only just begun. I published my first book last year)
I talk about my decision to go the self-publishing route. (I will be unpacking more of that in future episodes)
I go deeper into how I started writing and the help I got along the way. (We really need each other on this journey)
Key aha moments!
- Writing and publishing a book is the first step. There is so much more to do.
- After holding on to a desire and dream to become an author, for nine years, it finally came true. (don't give up on your dreams)
- Mistakes and failures make us stronger
- We are not alone in this
