This week our guest is Michael Vicens, the owner of Seakindly Foil School, which claims to be the first efoil-only school in the world. Rightfully so, as Michael was there at the inception, working with Lift Foils for their new innovative Efoils Try It and Buy It program.
Michael's background is as fascinating as his current ventures. He used to be a commercial pilot and an air traffic controller, which has given him a systematic approach to all our adventures and his lesson programs. Unfortunately, an injury pivots his life, but during his recovery, Lift Foils reached out to him to help build the Efoil. This opportunity was a turning point – foiling essentially saved his life, providing a new passion and purpose and fueling a whole new industry.
Join us for an exciting conversation where Michael shares his journey from the skies to the seas, the story behind Seakindly Foil School, and his experiences with SUP downwind foiling. Welcome back to The X-Foils! In our thirteenth episode, your host Dylan sits down with local body boarder, PJ Tartak. While PJ may not be a foiler, he’s made a name for himself as an exceptional boogie boarder and a true water enthusiast, as well as a low key entertainer!
PJ runs a popular Instagram account Bravito TV, where he shares hilarious memes and surf reports that poke fun at the often toxic surf culture. He highlights the "macho man" mentality prevalent in surf lineups, showcasing those who talk big but can't back it up with their skills, often when the conditions are less than inviting, the BRAVITO is no where to be seen. His aim is to bring some light-hearted humor to an environment often found in the water, making it a more welcoming and fun for everyone.

The X-foils case number 10 with Randy Campos. Owner and shaper of “Derty” Boards, a brand known for its innovative approach and shaping anything he feels would float! Randy's background in skateboarding, motocross, kiting and surfing, giving him a unique perspective on board design.

One of Randy's early interests was prone foiling, a discipline he thought might not be the future, but hit it hard anyway. He's been involved in organizing events for alternative sports like skateboarding and freestyle motocross, contributing to the growth of these communities and help building the ramps, jumps and promote these events that are needed.

Randy's experimentation with "foildrive" before we even knew it was a thing has given him 100s of more waves than us! It would propel him into waves you couldn’t paddle.

This Case number 7 of the X-foils Podcast we sit down with Wren Dougherty.
What can we say about Wren! She Chose a perfect balance between Puerto Rico in the Winter and The Gorge in the Summer time to stay on foil as much as possible. Focusing on wingfoil racing, and mastering the art of Downwind foiling this summer.
You can find Wren at the reef floating on her wingfoil gear taking videos of the community, with a smile and extra stoked to just be in the water!
Her mentors and foil figures are all Masters on a foil and choose speed as their best friend. Johnny Heineken, Ken Adgate, Kiko Dalmau, Nils Stolzlechner and many more foilers helps Wren along the way get to the speeds she is at now. Whether it was getting her boards shaped on the edge of progression or hooking it up with Windex'ed Mikes lab foils, there is lots of amazing watermen/women on her path. This Episode of the X-foils Puerto Rico Episode 6 I (Dylan) Sit down with Sean Reyngoudt, Local surfer, Kiter, foiler, winger and Badass. Sean lost his left leg below the knee in a forklift accident in 2003 when he was 19. We learn about how he got back into sports and that there is nothing he cannot do. Not only does he do all the disciplines, he absolutely Rips.
Sean is now training and competing in the ISA World Para surf Competition and representing Puerto Rico, working his way to compete in the Paralympics. Thanks to his main sponsor Celligencetech Creators of Angel Ai, nothing is beyond reach.
We talk about how he got into kiting and moving to Puerto Rico to live the watersports dream becoming a kite instructor, and chasing his passion on the side.
