“Best day ever.” Stephanie Gilmore said it best. An incredible finish to one of the most memorable CTs in recent memory that was the Bonsoy Gold Coast Pro Presented by GWM, crowned Australia’s own GOAT Gilmore and Ethan Ewing in a Queensland sweep.

The masses made their way down to Snapper Rocks and stacked it to the brim, celebrating a record-setting 34th CT win by Gilmore and Ewing’s second CT win on home soil and third-career CT victory. The GOAT Gilmore reestablished herself as the Queen of Snapper over GWM Aussie Treble winner and new World No. 1 Luana Silva. Then, Ewing’s excellence superseded the decimating backhand power of Connor O’Leary to find his first major result of 2026.

Gabriel Medina is joined by a new yellow leaders jersey with fellow Brazilian Silva claiming the GWM Aussie Treble, and keys to a brand new GWM Tank 300 to conclude the CT’s start in Australia. This marks the first time Silva will wear yellow heading into New Zealand after a Quarterfinal and back-to-back Final appearances to start 2026. 

The Boost Mobile Heat of the Day went to the Queensland quarrel between Ewing and Liam O’Brien that down to the final exchange to see who would enter the Final. In the end O’Brien’s last-minute efforts were eclipsed by Ewing’s excellence. Plus, Filipe Toledo took down the mophie Power Move of the Event

Next stop, a new dream spot is on the menu at the Corona Cero New Zealand Pro with the addition of Raglan ready to provide for the world’s best May 15 through 25.

The sun has set on the Western Australia Margaret River Pro, and Lakey Peterson and George Pittar leave Margs walking on a dream after their victories. 

An insatiable run to the Finals for George Pittar included three Brazilian World Champions before facing 3x World Champion Gabriel Medina in a Final clash. Pittar kept believing and the scores kept coming, posting a 9.00 after judges deemed Medina’s effort for a wave lost him priority and Pittar capitalized for his maiden CT win. For Peterson, it marks her first CT win since 2023 and a second in the Wild West after overcoming a World Champion and fellow Rookie of the Year on the way to her momentous win, sending her atop the rankings. 

Another Final appearance at Margaret for Medina sends him to No. 1 leaving the Wild West, with fellow Brazilian competitor Luana Silva earning a second-career CT runner-up. The Brazilian Storm is well and truly established leaving the West, encompassing four Top 5 spots on the men’s side and Silva sitting at No. 4. 

The GWM Aussie Trebel Leaderboard is shifting with Medina and Bryan taking the reigns to the Gold Coast, and the final stop to claim a new set of wheels. Plus, the Boost Mobile Heat of the Day belonged to Medina and Samuel Pupo’s Bells Beach rematch, and major shifts in the Surfboard Empire Shaper Rankings Presented by VEIA have Channel Islands right at the top.

Now, the Dream Tour heads for the pristine sand banks of Rainbow Bay and the Bonsoy Gold Coast Pro Presented by GWM May 1 through 11.

Kika discusses working closely with longtime coach Rodrigo Souza, who has guided her since childhood, and how their partnership will continue into her rookie CT season. She also breaks down her equipment preparation with DHD Surfboards, managing logistics for the demanding tour schedule, and adapting to new venues like Fiji and Tahiti.
