The reserve of the Gambirasio family is a reflection of the cultural norms in the province of Bergamo. Located closer to Switzerland than Naples, the Bergamaschi people are known for their reserved nature compared to their southern counterparts. According to Piero Bonicelli, the editor of Araberara, a local newspaper, mountain people have a tendency to avoid gossip and refrain from spreading rumors until they are certain of the truth. 

In their search for their missing daughter, the Gambirasio family did release some photos of Yara to the media, including images of her taking communion, doing gymnastics, and wearing an Italy football shirt, among others. However, despite their efforts, no useful information was provided.
