We present our recording at Cheerful Earful Podcast Festival in October where Ed Night joined us to travel back to 1829. Oxford University wins the first inter-university boat race, Robert Peel establishes the Metropolitan Police in London, the first modern police force, Lord William Bentinck pushes through a regulation declaring pushing self-immolation of widow on her husbands funeral pyre is guilty of culpable homicide, Joseph Smith, the founder of Mormonism, claims to have received the Aaroni Priesthood from John the Baptist, Kaspar Hauser is wounded, and a lucky audience member pits their history knowledge against Ed to be in with the chance of winning £25,000!

What a treat we have for you, one of the funniest episodes of the pod so far, helmed and lead by the masterful research of history undergraduate Red Richardson. We go to 1913 when Vincenzo Peruggia is arrested for stealing the Mona Lisa and has trouble selling it, failed artist Adolf Hitler moves from Vienna to Munich, low cost shopping giant Aldi is founded, Joseph Stalin is arrested by the Russian secret police and exiled to Siberia, the Romanian army cholera outbreak during the Second Balkan war starts, and the highest temperature ever recorded on Earth is recorded in Death Valley, California. Also Red is promoting his new special, and Bobby's dog Sunny makes a return appearance for the first time since the launch of the podcast.

Well here we are, celebrating our first year and getting straight to business by transporting ourselves to 1895 when Konstantin Tsiolkovsky proposes a space elevator, W.E.B DuBois becomes the first African American to receive a Ph.D grin Harvard University, the world's first portable handheld electric drill is developed in Germany, and American frontier and murderer and outlaw John Wesley Hardin is killed by an off-duty policeman in a saloon in El Paso, Texas.

Now that Red is an international star, sunning it up in Switzerland, and Bobby is lost somewhere on British country roads trying to get to Cornwall and Jody is moonlighting editing other people's podcasts, we have dug into the vault to find another live show from Edinburgh for you to enjoy. We go to 2005, when the first person survives rabies, Prince Charles and Camilla get married, Rodney Marsh is fired Sky Sports, Saddam Hussein is put on trial and hanged, Hunter S Thompson and Richard Pryor die.

Content Warning: This episode contains either some new legendary argumentative moments on the podcast or very probably the stupidest. We go to 1856, where Scottish-Australian James Harrison invents the fridge, American mercenary takes control of Nicaragua, pre-human remains are found in Neanderthal Valley in Prussia, and the Battle of Black Jack, antislavery forces, led by John Brown, defeat proslavery forces in Bleeding Kansas. Also Bobby has been experiencing incontinence, and what's the difference between a fridge an ice house, neanderthals and humans, and Prussia vs Russia?
