Featuring Joe Petruzzi

Sound Design Patrick Cronin

Stage Manager Alyssa Hall
Assistant Stage Manager Kelly Ziccone

“What happened to Whitman’s America? There is no unified song. There is no harmony of voices.”

Andy’s experience is common to many of us; the slow accumulation of a good life: love, work, friendship, family. But unforeseen events lead him to places he never imagined… Can we ever know the exact moment when a good life turns irredeemably wrong?

As Andy heads off to work to give the biggest presentation of his career, he wishes his teenage son Robbie goodbye. Eight hours later, everything has changed. A profound tour-de-force for one actor, played by Red Stitch ensemble member Joe Petruzzi, American Song is an intimate exploration of parenting, love, and the question: What could I have done differently?

LAY DOWN SALLY: AN OARSOME NEW MUSICAL ROBBIN’ HEARTS AROUND THE WORLD!
By Spencer Hadlow, Andrew White & Taylen Furness
StageArtXposed

Australia’s sport-obsessed culture is on full display in Lay Down Sally: An Oarsome New Musical Robbin’ Hearts All Around the World!, an original musical comedy.

Picking up right after she infamously laid down and stopped rowing during the women’s eight rowing final at the 2004 Athens Olympics, Sally Robbins is on a road to redemption. Her friends, family and teammates have turned their back on her but she has a plan to win back Australia’s hearts – by snagging a gold medal in cycling at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Sally quickly realises that there is one man perfectly suited to help her escape her past as ‘Lay Down Sally’ who is non-other than Australia’s most unexpected gold medal winner, Steven Bradbury.

Together they train to take on the world’s best in Beijing, coming across a number of Australian sporting heroes and pop culture icons in the process (Rex Hunt, Margaret Court & Nick Giannopoulos to name a few). After being detoured by love triangles, fierce media scrutiny and her own plaguing self doubt, Sally learns that believing in herself is what will ultimately bring her sporting glory.

Lay Down Sally is a satirical look at Australia’s obsession with sport and the harsh media spotlight faced by some of our top athletes. Nominated for ‘Outstanding New Work’ at the 2015 Union House Theatre Awards during its original run, Lay Down Sally is back bringing a snapshot of mid 2000s Australian culture to life on stage.

Starring: NICOLA GUZZARDI (A Super Brady Cabaret) SARAH CALSIÑA (In The Heights), SPENCER HADLOW, ANDREW WHITE & TAYLEN FURNESS.

BEAUTIFUL THINGS: A REALLY GOOD LOOKING MUSICAL
By Drew Downing
StageArtXposed

In a time of celebrity politicians, fake news and political correctness, four of the world’s most attractive superstars have joined forces to spread the word of inner (and outer) beauty. GLEAM (The Good Looking and Aesthetics Movement) is a painfully handsome force. In this live interview, our beautiful things explain their humble beginnings and lifestyles in a materialistic world.

From childhood dreams to lost loves, the men of GLEAM reflect on the pressures they face as handsome people; giving thanks to the beautiful things in their lives which bring them strength and courage.

They have the cheekbones. They have the bronzer. It’s time to strike a pose.

‘If you look good you feel good, and when you feel good you look good.’

Zoolander meets The Avengers in this new musical by Greenroom-nominated composer Drew Downing (REBEL, A Super Brady Cabaret, Grease 2: Live in Concert).

Featuring HENRY BRETT (Spring Awakening), BRADLEY MARSHALL (Sunday in the Park with George), DANNY MEDICA (Hair) and ADAM PERRYMAN (The Full Monty) with ANA MITSIKAS (Merrily We Roll Along) and introducing SAM BOYDEN.

Calendar Girls

Presented by: Prince Moo Productions

When Annie's husband John dies of leukaemia, she and best friend Chris agree to raise money for a new couch in the local hospital waiting room where they spent so many uncomfortable hours. They manage to persuade fellow WI members to pose nude with them for an "alternative" calendar, with a little help from hospital porter and amateur photographer Lawrence.

The news of the women's charitable venture spreads like wildfire, and hordes of press soon descend on the small village of Knapeley in the Yorkshire Dales. The calendar is a success, but Chris and Annie's friendship is put to the test under the strain of their new-found fame.
