This episode isn’t a guide. It’s just us asking each other random fall-related questions and giving honest answers.
What country does fall best? What’s the most overrated tradition? Do we actually like mulled wine? And what do we miss about fall in the US?
Some answers are thoughtful, some are ridiculous, and a few might get us in trouble. If you’ve ever spent fall in Europe or wondered what it’s really like, this one’s for you.

In this episode, we’re sharing the most memorable fall festivals across Europe. Some are famous, some are downright strange but every single one is worth the detour. If you’re planning a trip in September, October, or November, this is your ultimate fall festival guide.

thegetAwayZ is a European travel podcast about traveling through Europe from the perspective of two Americans who live here.
We’re Erin and Lisa, friends and roommates who…
Most episodes are about places we’ve actually been. We talk about where we stayed, what we ate, what we loved, what we’d skip and the things we wish we’d known before we went. Sometimes that means a big city, sometimes a road trip, sometimes Christmas markets and sometimes figuring out whether driving somewhere was actually a good idea.
We travel a little differently than we did when we first moved to Europe. We care more about where we stay, how much we can realistically fit into a day and whether something is actually worth the effort to get there.
If you’re planning a trip to Europe, or just like hearing about what travel here is really like, you’re in the right place.
