We’re talking real Croatian beach days, rocky coves, steep hikes, sea urchins, inflatable obstacle courses and a few places we almost turned around (but didn’t). From Dubrovnik to Split, Pag to Lopud, here’s where we swam, lounged, and said “okay, this was totally worth it.” Plus: full moon swims, surprise boat lunches, and how clear water turns you into a snorkel person whether you meant to be or not.

In this episode, We're diving into our beginning time in Amsterdam. The canals, the chaos, the charm and answering the big question: is it actually worth visiting? (Spoiler alert: yes. Always yes.)
We’ll share what we loved, what surprised us, how it felt visiting with a teen and a few places that didn’t quite live up to the hype. Plus, fair warning: my Dutch pronunciation is truly tragic but I powered through for the love of stroopwafels.
So grab your bike (or don’t, we have thoughts) and let’s talk Amsterdam. You can read more about Amsterdam on our website here.

thegetAwayZ is a European travel podcast about traveling through Europe from the perspective of two Americans who live here.
We’re Erin and Lisa, friends and roommates who…
Most episodes are about places we’ve actually been. We talk about where we stayed, what we ate, what we loved, what we’d skip and the things we wish we’d known before we went. Sometimes that means a big city, sometimes a road trip, sometimes Christmas markets and sometimes figuring out whether driving somewhere was actually a good idea.
We travel a little differently than we did when we first moved to Europe. We care more about where we stay, how much we can realistically fit into a day and whether something is actually worth the effort to get there.
If you’re planning a trip to Europe, or just like hearing about what travel here is really like, you’re in the right place.
