In the world of creatives, a balance of overflowing creativity and intense business acumen are a rarity. James Rallison (better known as TheOdd1sOut) is one of those rare people. His simple, yet iconic, marshmallow character design has catapulted him to YouTube stardom, and since then he’s launched many successful projects, including his hit Netflix animated series “Oddballs,” the first two seasons of which are streaming now. This week, he’s entering The Create Unknown to impart his animator’s wisdom onto all of us.

To start things off, we dive into James’ recent foray into the world of GAMBLING. He tells us his foolproof roulette strategy that wound up winning him 200 Australian dollars, but as it turns out, it really isn’t as easy to hoodwink the house as it may seem.

Then Kevin and James reminisce about last year’s VidCon, and their brief but memorable meetup at the event. James has been a featured creator at the convention for over half a decade now, and he tells us about all the changes and surprises that he’s seen over the years.

James also marks a TCU milestone for us as our first ever guest with their very own Netflix show. He lets us in on the process of making “Oddballs,” and we also get a look at the astonishing team he’s put together to keep making his YouTube content.

James has found massive success in nearly every market he’s touched, but we’re curious to get a peak behind the scenes at his professional life. Matt asks if James has had any projects go sour, and Kevin wants to know exactly how he juggles all these projects to stay on top.
