Often, it's the opposite to what the heading says. Nearly always we over complicate everything in a multitude of different ways, when we start to grow and scale our business. The more we add, the more we add further challenges, complexities and increase the avenue for more things to go wrong and that need our attention. But how the heck do we simplify and streamline everything so that these challenges don't occur? And that in lines, one of the secret tips to success. The ability to successfully simplify to multiply. It's a concept that I've been teaching to our clients heavily for the last 5 or 6 years alone as it's so crucial for a health business and medical professional to understand how they can simplify the main areas across all of their business as the most efficient and effective way to grow and scale beyond their current measures.
Admins are a crucial avenue to a successful health business and without the admin team being able to best control client bookings, the growth of a health business will be significantly hampered. The real challenge for gaining this control over client bookings is the fact that the admin and reception team need to work with human behaviours, and you can't simply follow the exact script each and every time. It's a perfect case of systemizing the routine and humanizing the exception. But there's 1 key ingredient that all admins should know and be aware of at the very start of all client interaction that guarantees to have them in control and being able to best direct and control discussions with the client, bookings and ultimately all engagement and flow for that client within the health team.
As silly as that title sounds, it is completely true. There's so much free information in so many ways from so many different people that is readily available. But the real challenge is that you can often get too much information, too many varying opinions, too many varying everything … and all it leads to is huge amounts of confusion for yourself. The trick is to be able to sort through the good from the bad. Sort through what's right for you right now and what is not. Sort through what you best and most need right now and have clarity with the momentum you need to move forward. Confusion only leads to indecision and procrastination. Momentum however drives clarity. Let's make sure that we don't allow ourselves to get confused and instead we continue to have more clarity and more momentum with the approach that we need moving forward.
This was actually a really fun podcast for me to do. I tried to disprove my own theory whilst cutting the podcast. I openly enabled myself to cut the podcast whilst having distractions and working across 3 different tasks over a period of time. Ultimately, it proved exactly what we already knew but many of us don't abide by. That is. Not being completely focused on the 1 task at hand leads to substandard results, inefficiencies and ultimately the demise of the business. There are numerous ways we like to think that this can work, and we often describe how busy we are and make allowances for ourselves to multitask, but it doesn't matter which way you allow the cookie to crumble, one of the quickest ways to kill your business is by multitasking.
It might sound very evident that if you know the problem then you also know the solution. But it's not always the case. As health and medical professionals, we often find ourselves caught up in the day-to-day busyness of our businesses, clinics, and teams and that's not even looking into personal challenges either. One of the first things that reduces in our efficiency and effectiveness is the aspect of rushing and not clearly enough defining the problem in the first place. And it really is the defining of the problem that will always make the solution appear. Whether it's marketing, growth, clarity of direction, not knowing what you don't know, or much more. The solution will always easily and readily appear when you complete the right approach and identify the problem in the first place.

There are probably not many fairy tales that we can actually learn a great deal of business acumen from, but Goldilocks is definitely one of them. After chatting with a few of my global mentors earlier this morning, it became abundantly clear that for all of us, we were out of alignment with our own Goldilocks pace. The more I look at the health industry and my own clinic, the more I know this to be true. The vast majority of business owners and the leading entrepreneurial minds are probably the worst offenders and so having all of us better understand what our Goldilocks pace actually is and how to best find it is crucial for us to be able to achieve more success. The best news is that its simple and easy to do but we just have to be accountable for actually doing it right now. Because the sooner we find our Goldilocks pace the sooner we'll achieve more simplified and rapid success.

It might sound like an oxymoron that to go faster you need to add something. But it's true in car design and also in business. One of the lead founders of the Lotus car company broke the paradigm for the car industry in make a making a car go faster by not adding more power but by actually adding lightness.
