Odds and Ends: We once again return to the vast well of shit talking streaming services while simultaneously expressing how convenient they make watching things. It's cool that 5 companies own everything as long as I don't have to fuckin rent it on Amazon or YouTube Again. We also discuss the season 3 trailer of The Boys and wax philosophical about the show versus the edgy comic series.

Feature Film: A true auteur's auteur, we're discussing the inevitable, inimitable, un-imitatable Neil Breen. We did this one in person because you have to buy this movie or find... other methods. But be warned, if you pirate it, government secret hacking Breen will be on your ass. What a movie.

Odds and Ends: It's (technically) our one-year anniversary! But this isn't our anniversary episode. It's complicated. Nick revisits a Coen Brothers classic, and we talk about our other favorites of theirs, as well as the mysticism of Nicolas Cage. We talk about Wordle, because we're your middle aged mom.
Feature Film: A Prophet is a movie. It follows a guy. Who is in prison. He's threatened. And has to do some things he doesn't want to do. And maybe does some drugs or something. Neat. This thing broke our rating scale.

Odds and Ends: A particular blackbelt isn't achieving world peace through ending violence; Nick doesn't Mind Goblin, I mean Nick watched Mind Goblin; Travis talks Fresh, and the art of very late title sequences; T.J. saw a new movie in a theater! It's Robert Battinson's new movie, "The Patman"
Feature Film: Joey Fatone of N*SYNC recommended the classic "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory," one of Travis' top 10 (or at least top 15) movies of all time. Travis writes a theoretical documentary follow-up to the movie, and it's more Brothers Grimm than Roald Dahl. Slugworth is Hitler (no, really), but grandpa Joe is the true villain of the movie. What room of the chocolate factory would be your demise, and which of the seven deadly sins do the characters represent?

Odds and Ends: We're gunning for that Ultimate Death, and we're taking the Queen with us; Nick watched the French Dispatch, and we go on a Wes Anderson trip through (pretty much) his entire filmography; we're back in Netflix's pocket as T.J. talks their new sort of improv sitcom "Murderville"
Feature Film: Diving in to the world of German experimentalism with the 90s cult classic "Run Lola Run," a movie about Lola, who runs. Multiple timelines, chaos theory, butterfly effect, whatsits and howifs. Two things are for sure: we'd all be better off being cats.

Odds and Ends: We love the royal family and hope they are all doing well; Moose saw a musical, T.J. saw a play, both of which also have movie versions, but don't you dare compare the two because art be different sometimes
Feature Film: In the first of our celebrity recommendations list (this one courtesy Elijah Wood), we're getting back with the king Jimmy in the 50s classic, "Harvey," about a lovable weirdo with an invisible rabbit best friend. This is one of those where we have a hard time staying on the topic of the movie, despite our overall enjoyment of it. And in keeping with that theme, uhh... Jimmy Stewart 4evs!

February 24, 2022 34 - Son of the Mask (2005)
Odds and Ends: Diving into the weird world of Derek Savage and Cool Cat; discussing the wonderful Paper Mario series, which only lasted two games and that's it, what a shame they never made more than just the two Paper Mario games; other older RPGs get some love, like Earthbound and Final Fantasy Tactics; our pal Elijah Wood recommends next episode's movie!

Feature Film: Only the strongest (dumbest) survived the movie for this week's episode, and neither of us are that happy about it. We're tackling the confusing and disturbing Son of the Mask, complete with Mask sperm. T.J. calls it the ugliest movie he's ever seen, and that's not even counting all the terribly cgi all over the movie. This one was hard to stay on topic with, so we take a brief dive into the works of Uwe Boll and think of ways to get him to fight us.

February 17, 2022 33 - The Brood (1979)
Odds and Ends: Masked Singer controversy naturally leads us into another 9/11 discussion, this time with 100% more Jeb!; E.T. is hotter than Penelope Cruz; we all saw Jackass Forever together, so this is almost a double movie ep because we do a fairly lengthy discussion on it.
Feature Film: Talking the Cronenberg cult classic "The Brood," which T.J. thinks was his big breakout movie, but could be wrong. Don't ask us, none of us saw a movie before Cats. That said, this one is definitely a movie, one of those body horror movies, though you wouldn't know it save for the very end and for one particular throat goat. I don't know why I got so off topic here, but I think I'm too tired to bother changing it at this point.

Odds and Ends: Travis brainstorms some alternate podcast ideas, which are pretty much the exact same as this one; the unending gold of repetitive song lyrics; T.J. talks Lucky, a Harry Dean Stanton vehicle that's not the other Harry Dean Stanton vehicle we talked about this week

Feature Film: We're settling in to the painted skies and (very long) shots of Paris, Texas, the 1984 road movie directed by Wim Wenders. It follows Travis/T.J. and his brother, played by Harry Dean Stockwell. Well, until it doesn't. This movie covers a lot of ground. Lots of talking about two people talking on the phone, and how to get this baby down to a tight 90.

Odds and Ends: Rango Unchained; Cynthia Nixon gets nasty; call us Francois Bourgeois, cuz we're riding all the trains, from Anal to Zoophilia; Last Claus Standing; we really struggled to come up with an opening this week... and a closing... and a... show
Feature Film: Talking the Gore Verbinski movie starring Johnny Depp that's NOT Pirates of the Caribbean (or The Lone Ranger), 2011's Rango (...Rangooooooo). It follows the titular Rango, a lizard out of water (literally) caught up in a conspiracy threatening the livelihood of the wild west town of Dirt. He meets a wide cast of characters, like Beans, Rattlesnake Jake, Doc, Rattlesnake Jake, the uhh, mayor guy, Rattlesnake Jake... Live and die by the code: Always shit in a Barnes and Noble bathroom, and never miss Rattlesnake Jake.

Odds and Ends: Dance interpretation of the late Brockhampton's music; Nuclear Disaster Person; Encanto is a movie that you can watch if you want, or not; X-Files/Sopranos/Peacemaker star Doggett; T.J. beats Travis to the It's Always Sunny reference, but where?
Feature Film: We're talking friendship, loyalty, and honesty this week, which can only mean Y.K. Kim's magnum opus, Miami Connection. It tells the story of taekwondo (NOT kung fu) rock band Dragon Sound as they face off against multiple different gangs that are maybe involved with the drug trade in Miami, or maybe just a bit grumpy that Dragon Sound stole their gig at the local bar. Either way, they all have to die, because that's how you achieve world peace!
