They Might Become Giants

Brandon has returned and The Giants are back in the wins with a cruisy victory over the hapless tigers at Gather Round and now focus shifts to our hated cross town rivals Sydney. Can the Giants take down the high flying Swans?

After last week's episode all about the incredible contribution of Italian Australians to the sport, Alex  deeps dive into the iconic Berto "Dippa" DiPierdomenico.

Brandon is away again so in celebration of Gather Round we invited our resident Adelaide fan Nick English on to walk us through Gather Round. Nick also comes from a very proud Italian heritage so he gives us the history of the extraordinary contributions of Italian Australians in the AFL.

After a much needed bye the Giants are back to take on Richmond in South Australia. Make sure you gather around the Guildford Hotel with us this Sunday at 3:15pm to watch us get back in the wins.

Brandon is away so Producer Sam steps into his place, who is actually in a great mood after celebrating rare back to back wins for the Eagles.  Alex is less happy after another defeat for the Giants and the bye can't come fast enough so we can get some of our troops back.

Sam then goes through the history of the (ridiculous) rules of AFL over it's history and then explains the new rule changes for 2026 in detail. Did you know there used to be no umpires back in the day?

Alex and Brandon are dejected by the close loss to the Saints but are aiming to serve Collingwood such much needed humble pie on Friday. It looks like the Giants will have some much needed troops returning this week for a prime time clash against Vic Bias itself.

Brandon then tells the fascinating story of the curse of William Penn and how some architecture influenced superstition in the sports mad town of Philadelphia.

Make sure to get down to the Guildford Hotel for a rare Friday night watch party! There will be prizes to giveaway and some great vibes.

Alex and Brandon celebrate the birth of Alex's first son but commiserate the massive loss to the Bulldogs.

They then preview the game against the free spending but as yet disappointing Saints and Alex concludes part two of the Aussie rules football in NSW history.

Alex and Brandon are ecstatic with the phenomenal round 0 victory against the Hawks, but quickly turn their attention to the upcoming grudge match against the dogs, who the Giants haven't beaten in 5 tries.

Alex then guides us through the first history segment of 2026 as he delivers part one of the history of AFL in NSW.

Join us at The Guildford Hotel from 1pm this Saturday for the first official watch part of 2026!

Heaps of prizes to giveaway and great vibes to be enjoyed.

The lads survived the torrential rain at Henson Park to watch the Giants warm up against the Swans, which they discuss in detail.

But now its time for the real stuff to begin with our rematch against the dastardly Poos and Pees who unceremoniously knocked the Giants out of the finals last season. The boys talk through how we can get our revenge and who will come into the side to cover our wounded stars.

The guys talk through the traumatic preseason but find a silver lining of being the underdog and the opportunities for new players to make their mark

Al then reads out some questions from Instagram and we prepare for the Sydney practice match at our home away from home Henson Park.

*Correction: Our first Watch Party/away game is against the Bulldogs, not Collingwood. Apologies!

Brandon and Alex are back with something a little bit different. We are now on YouTube! So make sure you follow us over there.

This episode was recorded on the very day Tom Green did his ACL, but before the State of Origin, so the full extent of the carnage was not yet know. They chat through preseason and their hope and expectations for season 2026 (is it better to be an underdog?).

They also review a movie with some real Giants representation (and some anti-giants propaganda - not dissimilar to VicBias) in Jack the Giant Slayer.

Let us know what other movies involving giants we should watch and review.

Well, so ends season 2025. Certainly not the way the boys wanted it to go, but Alex and Brandon get together to review the game and what they're looking forward to next year.

Hopefully we'll be back next year for season 2026. Stay tuned to our socials for updates.
