They Might Become Giants

The guys celebrate the extraordinary come from behind victory over Goal Coast in the expansion cup and ruminate on what it al means heading into the bye.

Brandon then tells the story of Israel Folau, who was an inaugural Giant but that is just the tip of the iceberg.

Join us in a couple of weeks time at The Guildford Hotel on the 4th of July for a (rare) Friday Night game against Producer Sam's hapless Eagles.

After a weekend of disappointment, Alex and Brandon pore over the Giants' recent poor form and the Tasmanian stadium debacle. Then Alex takes us North of the border, and back in time, to when the Gabbatoir was a Field of Dreams.

Join us back at the Guildford Hotel this Saturday from 1pm as we take on the Brisbane Lions.

The Giants were lucky enough to steal victory from the jaws of defeat against the Tigers and look to have farewelled a team legend. The boys preview the trip to the nation's cold capital against Port Adelaide and then look back on a part of AFL history that most hope to forget or struggle to remember.

Producer Sam & Alex have fled to Nippon, leaving Brandon in charge of things back home. Thankfully, it's a home game against the cellar-dwelling Tigers. We commemorate Uncle Toby's 250th game and the great career/hairline of Kevin Bartlett.

Brandon has returned from but Alex has departed to the land of the rising sun. We recorded this episode internationally with the boys covering the bitterly disappointing loss against Freo. However, they quickly turn their attention to the upcoming away game back at our true fortress, The Guildford Hotel.

Al then take Brandon through the divisive incident that occurred during Nick Riewoldt's first game as St Kilda captain which lead to a complete cultural shift across the AFL.

Join us the The Guildford Hotel for half time trivia and all kinds of special events as a part of the Back to Guildford Festival, this Saturday from 12:30pm.

Brandon is still away in   so Alex is joined by longtime listener and watch party attendee who also happens to be a Freo fan, Matt Hardy.

The guys talk through the weekend of footy just gone including the Giants epic win over Geelong. Alex then goes through the history of the Western Derbies in anticipation of the upcoming clash with the Dockers back at Engie Stadium (Producer Sam can't help but chime in).

Brandon is currently overseas in and we attempted to do a remote recording, but unfortunately suffered a technical failure. Therefore Producer Sam steps in at the last second to chat through the very depressing loss in the Sydney Derby and preview the upcoming clash again Geelong.

Alex then pivots to a history about a different sport, in a different country which involves curses, Colonel Sanders, toxic sludge, tiger maniacs and more.

Join us back at the Guildford Hotel for Mother's Day as we take on the Geelong Cats.

While its certainly not panic stations it has been far from the best couple of weeks for the Giants. Al and Brandon commiserate ANOTHER loss which leads to a brief conversation about the new Perth rugby League team.

The lads then gear up for the Sydney derby which leads to Al explaining the significance and history of Giants legend Callan Ward in his final season in orange.

Do it for Callan!

The boys are joined by the second American Giants fan (after Russell from Houston) they've ever encountered, who happens to be Dave Anthony from the legendary podcast The Dollop.

Dave explains how he became a Giants fan from LA after nearly being tricked into becoming a Saints fan by Charlie Clausen (ugh).

Alex then tells Brandon and Dave the story of Tom Leahy, the legendary ruckman from South Australia with the aim of getting the two newcomers to the sport to understand just what a ruckman actually does. It also happens to be an incredible story.
