They Might Become Giants

The boys celebrate another win as well as another successful watch party at the Guildford Hotel.

In anticipation of the Giant's battle with Adelaide (back in Adelaide, if you don't mind), Alex dives into the rich history of (arguably) the biggest rivalry in football, the showdown.

Join us once again the Guildford Hotel for our fourth watch party of the year!

The boys celebrate the demolition of Producer Sam's West Coast Eagles at the home of football, Engie Stadium. Darcy Jones is crowned an all time Giants icon and Brandon had a revelatory experience watching Jesse Hogan go about his business.

As the Giants head to South Australia for Gather Round to face the unexpectedly high flying Saints, Alex tells Brandon the extraordinary story of St Kilda legend and one of the all time AFL greats, Nicky Winmar.

We're back at The Guildford Hotel this Saturday for our third watch party of the year. While we can't offer an extensive range of Barossa Shiraz, we can offer some $5 schooners of Hahn Super Dry (way better).

We'll be there from 3pm. Enter the draw on the day to win a special giveaway prize courtesy of Sports Gear Australia.

The boys commiserate after a tough loss down in Launceston to the rampaging Hawks.

Brandon puts in his tips for the round before Alex tells the tale of the legendary and silver tongued Dennis Cometti in anticipation of the upcoming clash with the Eagles back at Engie (the home of football).

Producer Sam (who is NOT looking forward to this game) and Alex then task Brandon with leveling up his footy knowledge.

Alex and Brandon celebrate the incredible last minute victory off the boot of one of the unlikeliest of heroes (and most recent player profile on the pod).

Given it's a bye for the mighty Giants this week, Brandon steps up to the plate to deliver a surprising history about another (now defunct) NSW based team also called the Giants.

Alex and Brandon basque in the glory of another crushing win over Collingwood in Opening Round.

Alex gives a player profile of one of the ultimate journeymen of the AFL, Lachie Keefe after his valiant effort again Darcy Cameron on the weekend.

Brandon then learns all about the legend of Jim Stynes in anticipation of our upcoming clash with Melbourne.

Come and join us for our first watch party of 2025 at The Guildford Hotel this Sunday, March 16!

Brandon, Alex and Producer Sam are back for 2025 and couldn't be more excited.

Alex and Brandon talk through their off-seasons and announce a special prize for those who join us at Giants HQ on game day this Sunday.

Special guest and Collingwood die-hard Swoop Luke joins the pod to talk about the upcoming Opening Round clash.

Alex takes Brandon through how the AFL nearly had an LA based team (the eighties was a wild time). Piggybacking off that crazy story, we received an extraordinarily long, but brilliantly written email from a new-found AFL fan in Houston, Texas who has well and truly jumped on the Giants bandwagon.

This week the guys are joined by AFL journalist, stats guru and all-round legend Gemma Bastiani.

Brandon and Alex basque in the glory of our final watch party and trivia event of 2024 at the Henson park Hotel and review/commiserate the game against the Dockers.

Gemma then walks the boys through her journey to the AFL media and Brandon is blown away by the most comprehensive break down of AFLW tactics he's ever heard.

Brandon has returned from his sojourn to Melbourne and is back to talk  all things AFLW. Both Alex and Brandon were super impressed with the effort shown by the Giants this past weekend, in what was Brandon''s favorite W game of the year so far.

The guys then address the elephant in the room and reflect on the Wacky Wednesday controversy.

Alex then gives Brandon the history of the McClelland Trophy (is he a long lost relative of Brandon's?) as well as discussing how the Giants emerged from trade week.

Join us this Saturday (26th) at The Henson Park Hotel for our final TMBG get together of 2024. We'll be hosting trivia from the history segments of the podcast throughout the year and then we'll cross the road to watch the final Giants home game of 2024 against Freo.
