Millions around the world face daily challenges accessing clean, safe drinking water, though many of us don't think twice about turning on a faucet. Contaminated water leads to disease, hardship, and loss of life, making it a critical issue that affects both physical health and spiritual well-being.
Kurt Avery is the founder of Sawyer Products. Founded in 1984, Sawyer has been at the forefront of innovation in water filtration, insect repellent, sunscreen and first aid. Not only are Sawyer’s filters one of the most popular on the trail, but they are also being used in 80 countries to provide people with clean drinking water. The majority of Sawyer’s products are proudly made in the USA in Safety Harbor, Florida. Over the past decade, Sawyer has teamed up with 140 charities and impacted more than 28 million lives worldwide, donating 90% of its profits each year. Kurt says, “I want to be a good steward of what I have—And then I want to trust that God will do something big and miraculous with it.” God calls us to follow Him by caring for the thirsty, needy, and to use our gifts to make a tangible difference in the world. Whether through missions, business, or personal action, we all have a role in bringing both physical and spiritual life to those who need it most. You will be inspired how you can think and lead differently from Kurt’s incredible example and stories.
