This episode is inspired by a coaching call with one of my clients, and I know so many women will relate.
At this time of year, energy often dips. Work and family life are busy, the days are darker, and hormones can make everything feel that bit harder. It’s easy to fall into old habits, comfort eating, and feeling like you’ve “failed” if you’re not doing as much as before.
In this episode, we talk about:
👉 How to reframe all-or-nothing thinking into always something
👉 Why doing less can actually help you make more progress
👉 How to match your workouts and goals to your current capacity
👉 Simple mindset and self-care shifts that make consistency easier
👉 The real reason motivation drops, and how to rebuild it
If you’ve been feeling tired, stuck, or like your battery’s flashing red, this one’s for you. You’ll walk away with a calmer, kinder, and more sustainable approach to feeling your best, even in the darker months.

Joe Wicks’ new documentary Licensed to Kill has got lots of people talking about ultra-processed foods (UPFs)... but is it raising awareness, or spreading unnecessary fear?
In this episode, Hayley breaks down the truth behind the headlines:
👉 What UPFs actually are, and why they’ve become such a concern
👉 What the documentary got right about the food industry and public health
👉 Where it goes too far with fearmongering and oversimplified science
👉 Why dose, context, and overall diet quality matter far more than the odd UPF choice
👉 How to eat well in the real world - without guilt, restriction, or confusion

Microplastics are everywhere, and although it's early days in terms of research into them, it's highly likely they are not great for our health. But there are a number of things we can do to reduce our exposure to them, and potentially foods we can eat that can counter their harmful effects.
In this episode we talk about
- how to reduce exposure
- what foods to eat to boost and protect your health
- doing what you realistically can, and not aiming for perfection
- how this carries over into nutrition, fitness and weight loss
