For over a decade now, Marvel Studios has brought to you, many different superheroes. Up until this point, for the most part, a lot of these superheroes that live in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, have been pretty well known characters, being helmed by Iron Man, Thor, and Captain America. With the release of Shang Chi and the Legend of The Ten Rings, things are changing! Shang Chi is leading us down a more unfamiliar road, into a more “galactic” series of events!
“Martial-arts master Shang-Chi confronts the past he thought he left behind when he’s drawn into the web of the mysterious Ten Rings organization.”
This movie is quite the mix of martial arts, and comedy! PLUS, as much as it really is an origin story for Shang Chi, it also does not feel like an origin story. It feels like we’ve known Shang Chi for so long, and now we’re just jumping in the middle of one of his many adventures! If you’re looking for something maybe a little different than normal, I think Shang Chi is starting down that path that you’re going to enjoy very much!

It’s time to go to 1998, in order to revisit a favorite from our childhood! This movie, is an early movie from the famous, Guy Ritchie! It also introduces the world to Vinnie Jones, and Jason Statham, who would go onto create amazing careers for themselves, and THIS is where it got started. We are of course speaking about the film, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels!
“Eddy (Nick Moran) convinces three friends to pool funds for a high-stakes poker game against local crime boss Hatchet Harry (P.H. Moriarty). Harry cheats and Eddy loses, giving him a week to pay back 500,000 pounds or hand over his father’s pub. Desperate, Eddy and his friends wait for their neighbors to rob some drug dealers, then rob the robbers in turn. After both thefts, the number of interested criminal parties increases, with the four friends in dangerously over their heads.”
What happens when you try and cheat your local crime boss? Well, probably nothing but bad things!! From the creative mind of Guy Ritchie, a favorite of the TOTLB team, make sure that you go back and revisit one of our older favorites! If don’t know who Guy Ritchie is, first, weird, but second, go back and see where it all started!!

Are you ready to watch some of the weirdest things that you have seen in a long time? Not bad, just weird? If you are, then you definitely need to intake our latest subject matter. With no idea what I was getting myself in for, this was probably one of the weirder things I’ve watched all year! We’re talking about the Netflix series, Brand New Cherry Flavor!
“Based on Todd Grimson’s 1996 novel, Brand New Cherry Flavor tells the story of Lisa Nova (Rosa Salazar), the writer and director of promising short film, Lucy’s Eye (uh oh). She comes to Los Angeles to meet a powerful producer, Lou Burke (Eric Lange), who is interested enough in Lucy’s Eye to option a film”
This series is about witches, and Hollywood. The two probably pretty well hand in hand! But, Lisa has decided that she wants to make it as a big film producer, and things start to go array! So much in fact, that she needs to find a witch, in order to put a curse on someone!

It’s time for The Suicide Squad to do what they do best! Go on missions where most of the team dies, and they get replaced with another B list character!! BUT, with James Gunn behind the wheel, is this The Suicide Squad, better than the original Suicide Squad we got a few years ago?
“The government sends the most dangerous supervillains in the world — Bloodsport, Peacemaker, King Shark, Harley Quinn and others — to the remote, enemy-infused island of Corto Maltese. Armed with high-tech weapons, they trek through the dangerous jungle on a search-and-destroy mission, with only Col. Rick Flag on the ground to make them behave.”
What did you guys think of this soft reboot, of The Suicide Squad? We got a few characters that stayed on for this movie, that came from the original movie, but for the most part, a whole new crew. This Suicide Squad is sent on a mission to destroy a building, not knowing that Starro is being kept inside of the building. Of course, you know he escapes and wreaks havoc!

Do you see and remember Joe Pesci as a comedic actor, or a more serious actor in a bunch of different mobesque movies? Well, no doubt, the topic on hand today, is probably one of his most well known comedies of his whole career. There might be an argument as well, that this might be one of his most well known movies? We are of course speaking about the Joe Pesci, Marisa Tomei, and Ralph Macchio film, My Cousin Vinny!
“New York lawyer Vinny has never won a case. When his teenage cousin Bill and his friend Stan are accused of murder in a backwater Alabama town, it’s up to the nervous Vinny to save him from jail, even though he’s only ever tried personal injury cases before, and none of them successfully.”
So, what do you do when you’re accused of murder, but think that you’re getting accused of shoplifting? What do you do, when this all happens in a small country town in the middle of nowhere, and you’re from a big city? Well, you call your cousin, who barely has any experience in being a lawyer of course!! Along with this amateur lawyer, he brings his fiancée, who just happens to be an expert in mechanics!! This makes for a bunch of hilarious different situations!

Have you ever wondered what a movie would be like, that was made from a concept stemming from a ride at Disneyland? Do you think that Disney would even be able to make a full storyline out of a ride, that doesn’t really do much but go down a river? Well, if you’re answers were yes, then this might be the movie for you! Especially a movie starring Dwayne The Rock Johnson, and Emily Blunt!! We are of course speaking about Disney’s Jungle Cruise!
“Dr. Lily Houghton enlists the aid of wisecracking skipper Frank Wolff to take her down the Amazon in his ramshackle boat. Together, they search for an ancient tree that holds the power to heal — a discovery that will change the future of medicine.”
So, Emily Blunt’s character, Lily, hires Frank (The Rock) to help her find a location, that is supposed to be filled with a tree that will change the course of medicine for the entire world! Of course, that can’t be the only thing, as you find out a lot more about what Frank is hiding, and why he seems to never want to leave his home on the river. You also find out a little bit more about what might be considered his “extended” family, and his pet tiger! Make sure you go check out this fun movie, and see what you think about how well Disney did, by converting this ride, into a full fledged movie!

Well, it’s time to circle back to something that we’ve already partially spoken about! Not too many episodes ago, we spoke about the very first three episodes of the Marvel Studios TV series on Disney +, Loki. We’re back to talk about the full season, now that it has concluded!!
“Loki is an American television series created by Michael Waldron for the streaming service Disney+, based on Marvel Comics featuring the character of the same name. It is the third television series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) produced by Marvel Studios, sharing continuity with the films of the franchise. The series takes place after the events of the film Avengers: Endgame (2019), in which an alternate version of Loki created a new timeline.”
What did you all think of the full season now that we’re at the end? What do you think that it accomplishes within the whole, of the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Do you think it helps progress everything forward? Now, we know that Kang the Conqueror is going to be the next “big bad” in the MCU, and while not exactly getting Kang, we did get something very close. Do you think that Kang is a big enough villain to be able to move the MCU forward, as it’s next multi movie villain?

It’s pop culture classic time! Every time we sit down and record, we take a trip in our go back machine, to look back at something from our past! Today we’re going back to 1999! Twenty one years in our past, in order to talk about this Antonio Banderas lead, movie! We’re talking about The 13th Warrior!
“A Muslim ambassador exiled from his homeland, Ahmad ibn Fadlan (Antonio Banderas) finds himself in the company of Vikings. While the behavior of the Norsemen initially offends ibn Fadlan, the more cultured outsider grows to respect the tough, if uncouth, warriors. During their travels together, ibn Fadlan and the Vikings get word of an evil presence closing in, and they must fight the frightening and formidable force, which was previously thought to exist only in legend.”
We get to follow Ahmad ibn Fadlan, as he traverses where his new life is taking him. He’s tasked with a mission, to help twelve other men, who eventually become just like family, to take down a common foe. Watch as each side gets to learn about the others culture, language, etc. We are Antonio Baneras fans, but do you think that this is on the higher end of his movies?
