Thinking Outside The Long Box

As you all know, it's that time of the year we start talking more and more about our calendar, which is on pre-sale RIGHT NOW!! This year, we created a cosplay calendar, and have 15 models that will be a part of the project!

This episode is the LIVE episode that we did, while we were shooting the calendar. While all of that was going on, a couple of the hosts were busy working on the shoot, and in stepped a couple of awesome guests! They were there, accompanying a couple of the models to the shoot, and I don't think that they knew they would end up being major players in an episode!! Talking about the calendar, video games, and more in this latest edition of our listener interaction episodes!

Holy cow, I'm not sure if you're ready for this next episode!! This pick, is probably one of the biggest stand outs of 2020, which could use more stand outs by the way! I know that some people are falling out of love, while some people are falling in love, with this new Nicolas Cage, but man is he doing some crazy good stuff right now! We are of course talking about his movie, The Color Out of Space.

Color Out of Space, a science fiction, horror film. What happens when a bright colored meteor falls out of the sky. It starts effecting the environment around it, and starts effecting the people around it, from the groundwater. Most of them, in some rather "crazy" ways! I promise, this is going to be a very vibrant movie, worth the watch for that alone, but also for it's crazy premise. PLUS, if you haven't already listened to it, you should go find and listen to our interview with the legend, Tommy Chong. He plays Ezra in this colorful movie!

It's that time of the week in which we go backwards in time, and visit a story from our past! Today, we are going back forty years, back to 1980, to talk about the horror movie, The Changeling!!

The Changeling, is your standard haunted house storyline, with all of the awesome creeps that you would expect from such a movie. What would happen, if you stand to inherit a MASSIVE fortune once your son turns twenty on years old? BUT, you know that, because of a degenerative disease, your son won't reach that age! Well, in this story, that means that you kill your son, and replace him with an imposter, whom will indeed reach the age in which you'll both receive the inheritance! This is that story. But of course, the imposter son doesn't know, and now this house is experiencing a bit of a rebellion, to try and get someone to find the truth!

Are you looking for a crazy movie, with very little story, about two guys who delve deeper and deeper into madness? Well, if you are, this is the movie for you!! We are of course talking about the Willem Dafoe, and Robert Pattinson movie, The Lighthouse!

It tells the story of Ephraim, a younger man who finds a contract job working with Thomas, an older lighthouse watchman. Together they are supposed to take care of the lighthouse for a season. BUT, Ephraim's boat is not able to make it back to the island, because of a terrible storm, thus trapping him there. Deeper and deeper into insanity, the two men fall, seeing visions, and drinking anything that they can make into liquor. What happens to the both of them when they start to suspect each other of maleficence?

Our next interviewee needs NO introduction. Tommy Chong has dipped his toe in almost every part of the entertainment industry, as well as the cannabis industry. Most famous of course, for his time with Cheech Marin, in the ever popular Cheech & Chong comedy duo, movies, tours, stand ups, etc.

For this interview, we reached out, in order to speak about his time in the movie, The Color Out of Space! What a trippy movie this was, and who better to tell us about this movie, than Tommy Chong!! Of course, we do speak about Color Out of Space, but Chong leads us down a very spiritual conversation as well! We talk about some of his favorite spiritual books, how/why his kids read to him, and we talk about his budding career in glass sculpture. This is probably one of our favorite interviews, just in terms of what Tommy Chong has meant to our childhood. It was an absolute pleasure, to have such a legend, join us for the show!

It's that time of the week again, where we release an episode! BUT, like some weeks, we are releasing an episode that happens to have been a very exciting LIVE episode! Every session that we record, we always record a live episode! We do this because we want to try and get as much input from our listeners as possible! So for this episode, we normally ask all of you to choose what we speak about for the issue. It could be something that you have watched, read, or listened to from the past week, or just something funny that you want to make sure that we discuss!!

For this episode, we ended up talking a lot about sequels. Because the original Terminator was our pop culture classic episode, we couldn't go to far ahead, without speaking about the sequel, Judgement Day. That brought up a whole other topic, about what sequels are better than the originals? Hopefully you'll join us for a future LIVE episode!!

Do you have superhero fatigue yet? Are you tired of all of the DC and Marvel movies/tv shows that have been hitting the airwaves? Well, tired or not, our next topic takes a different spin on the superhero genre! We are of course, talking about the 2020 film on Netflix, Project Power!

Project Power stars Jamie Foxx, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. In this universe, superhero powers only come in increments of five minutes, and you have to take a pill, in order to find out what your power will be. BUT, you run the risk of having no power, and simply blowing up! Gordon-Levitt's character is a police officer who is trying to rid the street of this drug, while taking it himself, and Jamie's character is trying to find his daughter, with whom, seem to be the source of the super powers in general!

You know what time it is everyone!!! It's time to turn those time clocks backwards, and revisit something from our childhood!! Yup, it's pop culture classic time!! For this episode, we're going all the way back to 1984! In 1984 we were blessed with a VERY different sci-fi movie, called The Terminator!

The Terminator is all about a large "race" of super intelligent, and super strong robots!! Robots that essentially "wear" the skin of a human being, in order to blend in. These machines were sent to the past, in order to kill the mother of a child. That child, will grow up to become a fearless leader, of an uprising against the machines. This is the story of Sarah Connor and Reese, fighting against those machines, and ensuring Jon Connor is born, to become the leader the world needs him to be!

In what is almost a prequel to the Alien franchise, today we talk about a series that is dominated by androids! Well, androids trying to assimilate human kids, into an android/human lifestyle. We are of course talking about the HBO Max series, Raised by Wolves!

In this series, we find out more and more about mother & father, plus their original kids, and their next set of adoptive kids. While all that is going on, which we still aren't quite sure what it even is, we get to watch mother go around screaming at people, until they literally explode. While father is trying to be the most human android possible. AND there is something on this planet that their all on, that seems to be invading a few peoples' minds. It's quite the crazy rollercoaster and puzzle that is unfolding as each episode progresses. It's confusing, but the set pieces are beautiful, and that alone might be worth it for you, to take a chance on this crazy series!

Here we go everyone!! We're continuing the tradition for the calendar. We do an episode where we talk about our models. We of course do our best to be as respectful as possible, because it's a brave thing to tryout for a calendar! This year we had almost 60 different women send us emails saying that they wanted to try and be a part of the project! Because of this, the 2021 calendar will have a couple of months with teams, and there will be a few months split up, in order to accommodate a few extra models!! During this episode, we finalize that list, and move towards the final project!
