Are you terrified yet? You should be in the event that October has started. A horror film a day keeps the ghouls away, that’s the Third World Ballers creed. So take your medicine, get comfy, and strap yourself in for the fall season. Here you’ll find body horror, the found footage, psychological horror, that sweet synth or pervading silence, slashers and iridescent colors, the vast spectrum that requires the visceral elements of horror to deliver a vehicle of catharsis to the viewers experience. On today’s episode I had the privilege of hosting the Dream Riders, associated with the organization NAKASEC (National Korean American Service & Education Consortium) and Affiliates, on their Journey 2 Justice involving Citizenship 4 All. These individuals have taken on the arduous task of cycling border to border, from Seattle to San Diego, in an attempt to raise awareness and revitalize a moral consciousness. These riders are demanding a clear pathway to citizenship for all non-citizens who’ve been denied the opportunity, including undocumented immigrants and intercountry adoptees. 1 in 6 Korean Americans are undocumented, and suffer from not being able to access certain material needs/programs in order to fully subsist themselves. We sit and converse about the dualities of identity, what Citizenship 4 All means, positives and negatives to riding across country, and what they hope to achieve.
