This 1893 hurricane season was one of only two times in history to suffer 4 Atlantic storms at the same time. It would not happen for another 105 years so this day was pretty monumental.

Beginning as a waterspout over Lake Huron, the lone supercell carrying all this destructive energy came ashore, became now a proper tornado and proceeded to rip through the popular lakeside town of Goderich severely damaging the historic wheel-spoke shaped downtown.

At one point, over 10 million people in Southern Ontario, also known at the time as one-third of Canada's entire population, were placed under either tornado watches and/or warnings as these powerful and dangerous storms rolled through.

On the afternoon of August 19, 2005, tornadoes dropped, damaging homes in the Conestoga Lake, Fergus, and Tavistock areas….oh, and Toronto....maybe.
