On this weeks episode I'm talking about how I discovered the idea to evolve or repeat and how that ties into how I model behaviours I want for my children. I also talk about the importance or gazing into your self and how working on becoming a better you can only benefit your family and the way you parent your kids!
Hello humans! Welcome to This Hive Howls, a podcast about motherhood, parenting and the mental health struggles the world seems to want to keep quiet. I’m your host, Julie B, a mom of two, an educator, an interior designer, and the author of the blog This Hive.
Join me each week as I howl from … not the rooftop but the safety of my home, about my personal struggles with mental health and how it affects how I parent not only myself, but my kids. We will delve into topics like identity, anger and rage, post part depression, societal standards of motherhood and what it truly means to be a parent.
Subscribe, rate and review, and listen wherever you get your podcasts! Oh, and if you hear something you like, share this howling mom with your friends so the word can get out that we are no longer staying silent!
Till next time, Julie!

In this weeks episode I talk about how motivation is a construct that can be damaging to our mental health. I explore personal reasons why I choose to stay consistent with the end goal to be a better mom, and give you 3 ways to be consistent when you're feeling un-motivated as a parent.

In this weeks episode I'm talking about my awful experience with the breast is best culture and how it made my births for my two children even more traumatic than they were. It is a triggering topic for many, so there's some content warning concerning traumatic births; if you're dealing with any post partum depression, please reach out to a professional.
I hope to see more resources around breast is best vs fed is best. My stance is that a fed baby is the best option, with the approval of doctors of course.
