John and has family have a fascinating story of how they purchased and rescued The Mayo Hotel. In this podcast John tells the story of how he bought the rundown hotel for 1 DOLLAR! 1! If you dont know the history behind the hotel. Every dead president has stayed there, there are 76 apartments where people live all year round.
"Since first opening its doors in 1925, The Mayo Hotel in Downtown Tulsa has hosted thousands of prominent guests, including celebrities, political figures and titans of the oil industry. After closing its doors in 1981, the Tulsa landmark was vacant until December 2009.
On the heels of an extensive $42 million dollar historic renovation, the property today has earned a reputation as the premier lodging and event venue in Downtown Tulsa – with 102 ultra-chic guestrooms, 76 luxury residences and nine event spaces with state-of-the-art technology to host the ultimate affair for up to 500 guests."
Not only is John a historic real estate developer he has a huge passion for motorcycles. In his early years before going to college he was a professional motocross rider and toured the country! After laying the bike down for 30 years he is now back at it. John has a local museum down the street from the hotel called The Mayo Moto Museum. This guy loves his bikes!
