This Is Silly with the Louligans!

It’s that time of the year again! The beginning of the season and a chance to shake of the rust and getting back to what we do best, Show up and Make noise!

But, with Saint Louis FC folding and Saint Louis City SC not starting until 2023, a few of the Louligan Drum Corps, Zack, Sam, and Rick, sit down to discuss what it means to support, what worked and what didn’t from Saint Louis FC, and where we hope to see the Drum Corps going in the future. We know we aren’t building this alone and we want to hear from the fans. We are not talking soccer news. We are not sharing the latest on City SC. We are talking all things support, chanting, capo-ing, and everything in between.  We want to talk about the things you want to see from the supporters section when City take the field in 2023, and we hope you join us and help spur the conversation.

So, are you ready to Show Up and Make Noise?

 

A bout of illness threw us back a week, but now we’re gonna be back to regular episodes.

We have so much to talk about…Super League, MLS, USL, stadiums, lions, tigers, and bears OH MY.

I’m not even gonna type any more. Just get to listening.

…only if the fern has notes.

There’s a lot to talk about in the soccer world, and very little of it is good. From bigotry, to disrespect of fans, back to bigotry, to Sacramento’s situation, and more bigotry.

But it’s not all serious…we just can’t do that.

That’s not SiLLy.

A lot of news to cover this episode, and we get after it right away.

We’re going to miss traveling to games this year as a group, but we’ll still plan outings and do what we can. Travel is an important part of soccer culture around the world, and it makes for a great topic.

And quite honestly, this foursome is the best version of the pod. But that’s just our opinion.

Matt Sebek of STLCITY joins us. Matt explains what a CXO is, what he’s planning for the next two years, and other important stuff about fan interaction and building the environment.

Oh, and he drops a major bomb for a lot of people.

We wrap up the year, talk about CDJ, the Holiday Movie Bingo the Louligan Ladies are doing, and gratefully say goobye to the dumpster fire known as 2020.

We got two extra games, but with the loss in Louisville, our season, our club, is over.

We had to take an extra week to process all the feelings, but we’re here to talk and share thoughts and stories of our last night with Saint Louis FC.

But fear not….as Sean Reynolds said, we’re not f**king done. The next two years will fly by, and we’ll be on to the next chapter. Let’s expand on the segment and get ideas going on how to pass the time by.

We end on a positive note…hear about how our Charity Du Jour donation from a game is making a difference for one local charity, and how we’ll keep that going to.

Because Louligans are like allergies…you never get rid of us.

On to LOUISVILLE!

And who better to talk about what is going on than Tyler Blackwood! Tyler calls in from bed (gotta rest up!) to tell us how the boys are feeling, how training’s going, and the confidence a striker has. He’s got some celebrations to cross off his list.

Some MLS league news, but really…it’s all about this past saturday and the upcoming saturday. LETS GO!

Because WE’RE NOT DONE.

That’s right, the boys took care of business on saturday, and we are PLAYOFF BOUND.

Saturday, we play in Hartford, and let’s keep this dream alive. Hartford won their division, but we’re playing strong and it’s gonna be a hell of a game. The boys are ready…LET’S GO!

There’s nothing else to say.

But that won’t stop us. We discuss the game against Louisville for a short time, discuss the abhorrent officiating, and then move on to the Indy v Kansas City game. The ghost of Don Denkinger did us a solid, and the game this saturday against Indy is for our franchise. We lose, it’s over. We win, playoffs and we live to fight another day.

We spend most of our time talking about the situation in the San Diego Loyal – Phoenix Rising game, and how the game is changing for the good. It’s time to be better, and incredibly, Landon is leading the way.
