On this episode I chatted with owner of Stonecloud Brewing Joel Irby. Joel has a great story. He left Oklahoma for Colorado to study and fell in love with craft beer and the mountain life. After graduating Joel took a job at a brewery and dove into his passion. 9 years later he returned to OKC with an opportunity to occupy a historic building and open his own taproom.

"Our name draws inspiration from the huge skies where endless mountains melt into clouds on the horizon. This might seem odd considering the fact that we are smack in the middle of the flatlands in Oklahoma City, but our founder Joel Irby (an Oklahoma native) spent 10 years perfecting his brewing craft at breweries in Boulder, Colorado. The urge eventually hit to open up his own spot, and with Oklahoma City’s recent growth and proximity to family it was the perfect place to make this dream a reality. We opened our doors in the summer of 2017."
