We're back once again proving that inconsistency is key. We've wrapped up the Summer season and naturally we have thoughts, but only a few because we've got the Fall season breathing down our necks. There are a good few titles that peak our interest and we've got some speculation before the onslaught of new shows to take in. Curious about where to start this season? We'll have you covered in this episode and our first impressions hopefully out soon.

The end of the Summer season is rapidly approaching so we figured we should do a little ranking to see where things stand. Rather than categorizing every show we're just hitting a top five new and top three returning series plus a couple of honorable mentions that maybe didn't make the cut. This list is a little more freeform than you're maybe used to if you've been listening to us for a while now but hey it still gives you an idea of what we're watching and what you might want to catch up on.

Just when you thought everything had dropped this season here we are with two more first impressions. Both titles receiving a fair bit of hype in their own right, this week we're talking Delico's Nursery and Kimi No Todoke season 3. The former is a new title set in a world of vampire aristocracy and upset children while the latter is a much beloved classic rom com dropping a new season. As always we've got our thoughts and first impressions as well as some other nonsense to keep you up to date on this anime season.

I know it's a late episode this week and the title doesn't fit the meme format but it's the best we got this week. Here's another round of first impressions as we start moving towards the middle of the season. Due to a weird release schedule we're really spreading out the first impressions, but we've got 6 titles some new and some returning to go over this week as we wait for the last couple of holdouts to start.

We're doing this thing, another episode right here and guess what? It's more first impressions! This week Nick decided to try and watch all the shows that looked halfway decent, and Cory picked all the titles that seemed like terrible fanservicey garbage. So we've got a pretty good smattering of new shows to pick from this week, some of them good and some of them maybe not as much. So sit back and maybe you'll find your next favorite show for the season.

Hey everyone, we're still doing this thing! If you stuck around we probably owe you an explanation, but essentially life took a larger focus and Cory was fortunate enough to get married recently which is also pretty cool. We're still planning on making this happen from time to time though, so here's a new episode choc full of new first impressions for the currently happening summer season. If you're worried about how spring ended up... don't be probably, though we may retroactively crown a bgbfg. In the meantime here's summer in all of its weird horniness here to stay.

This week we're testing our new short format and talking about two things that do prominently feature shirtless people. First up is Nick's favorite, a new season of Demon Slayer Kimetsu no Yaiba is out and the hashira training arc is well underway. Will this be the season that brings Nick back into the fold or is it too little too late? Next up we're talking the most recent live action adaptation of a beloved anime. This time it's Golden Kamuy who get's its meatspace debut. This adaptation was full of surprises, a number of them pleasant even. Covering live action anime seems to be the main focus of our episodes these days, but all the same we've got a full deep dive if you're into that sort of thing.

This week in our newly streamlined formula we're just talking about one thing, Blue Giant. It's an anime film about you guessed it, jazz, which came out a while ago but is finally available to stream this month. With the director of Mob Pschyo 100 at the helm and music by Hiromi Uehara, we were pretty excited to see this one. But did it live up to the hype? Sort of... it's complicated which is why we did a whole review for you to enjoy. We'll be back to more seasonal focused content soon, but for now let us know what you thought of Blue Giant.

Maybe, It's hard to say. With life changing in somewhat significant ways as well as a series of other things we've decided to reexamine our format a little bit and change things up. We'll be going into more detail in a future episode, but we wanted to give an abbreviated powercast a shot, one with less structure and tiers and more of a top 10 new and top 5 returning respectively. We're trying things out, we're keeping things a little briefer than usual, and honestly we cover a lot of things in first impressions anyway so bare with us as we try stuff out to find our new vibe a little bit.

It is, and it's called Tadiama, Okaeri. Spring continues to drop a whole bunch of new shows and we're doing our level best to try and see all of them. This episode is another batch of first impressions for Spring 2024. The season continues to deliver a pretty mixed bag of titles, but we each found at least one show we're pretty hyped for in this episode as well as plenty of other shows that left us scratching our heads like the previously mentioned Tadaima, Okaeri. If you're looking for a place to start this season then as always we've got you covered, no matter what you're looking for I guess.
