We're still dealing with the post season depression of Demon Slayer ending so we thought it would be good to circle back around to a couple of other titles that were a little middle of the road for the powercast. So we're doing a vibe check on Tokyo 24th Ward, Cast Study of Vanitas, Life With an Ordinary Guy Reincarnated as a Total Fantasy Knockout, to name a few, and we're once again pondering the symbolism of feet in Akebi's Sailor Uniform. We also have the first two episodes of ShenMue The Animation live so we're a doing a deep dive to see how it stacks up to the massive legacy of the games it is based on. In  case you didn't know Demon Slayer season 2 just finished bringing an end to the Entertainment District Arc. We're going in depth discussing what we liked about it, what maybe didn't work for us, and how this season stacks up to the first season. We of course also have a bit of news to get to, the announcement of the Swordsmith Village Arc, some corporate shifts over at Bandai Namco, and most unfortunately the deaths of two well known voice actors. To round out the episode we celebrate Valentine's day the only way we know how, by talking about two of our favorite shows this season that might be slept on by a decent number of viewers. This past week we both had the pleasure of viewing Mamoru Hosoda's new film Belle in theaters and since we haven't talked about a movie in a while we decided to give you our thoughts. We've been hyped about this release for a while now so naturally we'll be giving you our pros and cons as well as talking about the experience of seeing it on the big screen versus at home. Belle is considered a modern retelling of Beauty and the Beast , and we've also got some thoughts on whether or not that label is entirely accurate. We're doing our best to avoid major spoilers, that being said you have been warned it's hard to write a review without mentioning some of the things that happen in the movie. Let us know what you thought of Belle as well.

Winter 2022 is in full swing and it has brought with it some serious anime firepower to keep us warm. Naturally we're doing what we do best and running through every new title this season to give you one sentence to try and explain it as well as highlighting a couple shows in each tier to go into greater detail on. This episode is a great place to figure out what you might want to watch this season, or just to hear us go on about our favorites, either way it's a good place to start. And if you're wondering about returning series don't worry, we're gonna talk about those too. If you're reading this it means all of the nominees for the Crunchyroll Anime Awards have been announced and voting has now closed. We voted though, so we're gonna talk through some of the categories and see how they compare to our own pics/maybe get some ideas for our own upcoming 2021 awards show... We're also getting into the major news surrounding ActiBlizz and Microsoft, and while it's not strictly anime it's worth covering all the same. And lastly Nick has come up with a new parallel universe game to torture Cory with, so if you think you're an expert on this seasons titles you can play along and see if you're smarter than Cory. Lastly our Powercast is imminent, but because y'all have been good we put the rankings up early on the site, so go check them out if you're curious.

One of the shows this season has a foot thing... probably and if you want to know which one you'll have to listen to this episode. Seriously though, we're back again with a whole bunch more first impressions of the Winter season this week. We've identified some potential duds, some wait and see titles and some shows that are likely to be bangers. We've pre ranked our power rankings if you will, and in a shocking twist you'll be able to see the power rankings a week earlier than normal on our site, so they'll be up shortly. We're talking everyone from shonen titles like Sabikui Bisco to chill slice of life stuff like Akebi's Sailor Uniform so if you're curious about  everything going down this season then we got you covered.

We did it, we survived 2021 and as a result we've got a brand new season of anime to look forward to. Now that the New Year's break is over we've had a steady stream of titles trickle in and we figure it would be worth it to give our first impressions on some of them. Of course before that we have a bit of news to get to as always. We also revisit our predictions from last season's buy it or deny it and find out just how wrong we are. And while we're at it we make a few more predictions that will be sure to come and bite us in the end. Thanks for listening folks, and here's to a new year of anime!

Fall 2021 has wrapped up and we want to give it all the glory it so richly deserves. We've had a lot of really excellent new titles this season, and while we probably won't get to talk about all of them, we at least want to celebrate our favorites the only way we know how, by dressing to the nines and handing out a Bunch of This Just Trophies! Who will win? Who is Best Girl's Best Friend Girl?  Will Ranking of Kings take everything? We're back with a full length episode, and as both the season and the year are quickly coming to a close we start making our predictions for the next year and looking back fondly, or maybe not so fondly on titles that have recently finished their run. First we turn it over to chief meteoroligist, Tenki Omae, with the weather themed look at the next year in anime. From there we turn our attention back to the current season to decide whether a few recently completed shows belong on the naughty or nice list. And finally we do something truly horrific, and give you our elevator pitch for the sequel to Satoshi Kon's Christmas Masterpiece, Tokyo Godfathers, in a segment that is sure to upset everyone, ourselves included. We've got just a little more time until the end of the season, so check out the rankings if you want some insight into how the awardscast might play out!

Whether you hate to see it go, or you love to watch it leave, Netflix has officially pulled the plug on the second season of their live action Cowboy Bebop adaptation. Being that we have a little bit of a shorter episode this week for exciting reasons that we cannot yet reveal to you, we thought it would be the perfect topic to spend a little over 30 minutes on. We've already reviewed the series in a previous episode, but this week we're taking a stab at whether it deserved to be cut short. What does this mean for future Netflix live action remakes? Is there an anime that would be better in the 3d space? And perhaps most importantly could season 2 have "saved", the show? Obviously all we can do is speculate, but if you're curious about it then we've got you covered.
