This Week's Rehash

What is the connection between the Mayor of Manila, illegal street vendors, food stamps and the homeless population in the US? By the looks of it, Homelessness is actually an industry because despite the billions of money that has been poured into it the problem still persist and has even grown bigger.  That only means corruption.   So who is making money of homelessness?

Life is filled with circuses You will fail, you will fail often,  It will be painful.  It will be discouraging.  At times it will test you to your very core. but If you want to change the world, don't be afraid of the circuses.  - Paraphrased from Admiral William McRaven's speech

Anxiety can creep up on anybody,  I even hear of high school students actually shaking and grinding their teeth because of school pressures.   We can easily blame outside pressures and stress but it is actually us that cause our own worries.  It's the way we think or how we were trained to think.

Is there actually a good deed we do that is solely for the benefit of others?  Doesn't the mere fact that we felt good is already a reward itself? How about those who use social media to broadcast their so called "kind deeds"  to get thumbs up, likes and subscribers?  Isn't it all hypocritical?

How much influence do parents really have in their children's attitudes?  Aren't the children's personalities and characters built in the moment they were conceived?  Why are there traits that child exhibit but neither parents have?

We have all heard it, "life was simpler back then"

What does that really mean?  It's simpler to hunt for food than to have it delivered at your door?  Isn't it all just relative and life is only as simple as we make it to be?
