The Best is Yet to Come series continues with a treat that is just perfect for my empty nesters wondering about their next move. Sometimes your next best step is to lay plans aside and take a trip outside the familiar that's exactly what my guest Tammy Darmel Moore did a couple of years ago, taking a trip to the motherland. A trip to Africa not only changed her life, but helped her build a legacy that goes far beyond herself.
About Tammy Darmel Moore:
Tammy Darmel Moore, Founder of Footprints in Africa, offers a rich history of over twenty years in Corporate America and is credited with helping enterprises flourish exponentially through her acute business acumen and strategy. Following her retirement from the corporate sector, Tammy wanted to do more to give back, and after a life-changing trip to Ethiopia, Footprints in Africa was born. Driven by her vision and compassion for humanity and fueled by her love for the African continent, Tammy dedicates a large majority of her time and energy to nurturing and building the Footprints in Africa brand. With over two decades of community service experience, Tammy is no stranger to the different layers of creating, developing, and facilitating a business, which has proven valuable for building a non-profit organization.
In addition to her work as a non-profit leader, Tammy is Principal Business Consultant with her consultancy firm, Moore and Associates. She is also the CEO and President of Chayil Enterprises LLC, a highly diversified company with entities in real estate and consumer goods and services. Chayil Enterprises LLC is the parent company of Therapeutic Touch, Moore and Associates, and Footprints in Africa.
Tammy earned a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree in Business Administration with extensive accounting studies from Furman University. After graduation, she completed a rigorous Project Management Professional (PMP) program, at the University of South Carolina. Additionally, Tammy has two executive business certifications (Innovative Finance and Social Innovation) from the University of Cape Town, a research university in South Africa, thus earning honors recognition in both programs. She also holds several executive certifications in Intellectual Property Law (Intro to Intellectual Property, Copyright Law, Trademark Law, and Patent Law) from Pennsylvania University, and an elite business certification in Women's Entrepreneurship from Cornell.
Her influence in the business arena, and community alike, is evident with awards and recognitions like National Women History Month Spotlight, Black History Month Spotlight, and TALK
Tammy is a native of Greenville, South Carolina, where she currently resides.
