Many families are broken. Heck, many people and lives are broken. It’s a stark reality of the world we live in. But the way we are right now is not the way we always have to be. How we are is not how we are meant to stay. Did you know that God’s response to our brokenness is not the same as our response? Family life gets complicated. Things happen and unseen forces start to deteriorate the harmony of our home. We find challenges to our peace, joy, and contentment. Our relationships suffer. If left unchecked, these things can cause serious problems and even destroy a family - so what are we to do? Pastor Chris talks about this today. 

We believe that every family - no matter what the family dynamic looks like - matters to God. In fact, the family unit is one of the very first things God established; before He even created a nation or a church. The family existed even before sin. This world today is challenging the family unit in ways we have never seen before, and we all find ourselves trying to navigate the ups and downs, ins and outs of family life on a daily basis. What does the Bible have to say about it? What does the Bible teach that can help us? And if my family looks different than families in the Bible, can that even help me? Pastor Chris opens up about that in this message.

At Christian Harbor Church, we believe in being generous of spirit. We believe that we have been blessed to be a blessing. We believe that once we have been rescued, it’s our calling to rescue others. That those who have been helped should pay it forward and help others. It’s not merely a good idea; it’s not just a scriptural principle; it’s the heart of God.

Sometimes life gives us very poor options. We don’t always have an obvious choice. What can we do in those moments to make the best possible choice - the right choice - when we’re not sure what to do?

We all deal with stress, and right now, there are many things in our world that are greatly adding to that stress. Why is that a problem? What can we do about it? How can we learn to manage stress in a way that we don’t take it out on other people? The Apostle Paul was on Death Row, in prison, awaiting execution; and yet he greatly encouraged and empowered others to live a life of joy, peace, and faith outside of his own limitations. How could he do that, and what can we learn from what he had to say? We look into that today as we learn some practical handles for dealing with stress.
