Living and working with two year olds can be very exciting, yes we know it can be really hard work to. Two year olds cannot emotionally regulate, so what can we all do to help them be who they really are?
Nurturing, positive boundaries that are achievable, model and develop kindness and empathy. See the positive, see the delight  and  build up a life time of confidence.
Choice is paramount - Environments, clothes, shoes, their play.
What are you going to Teach a two year old, what sort of adult do you want to help grow?

Here the Beckies talk about Admin in Early Years -  and try to discover what is early years and what is everyday admin,  they discover what is really needed in the early years workplace and how do we discover our key skills. Becky talks about what she really wants from Early Years and how she chose to work with children. What does an Early Years lead actually do and how do we champion and put first the most important part of our work with children?
The funding aspect of the Early Years takes up so much time, is this an Early Years Lead Role?
Everyone recently has been finding it really hard to work from home with their children, we don't want Early Years to fall into this category.  We are here for the children, we teach children this is what our profession is for and that we feel, is where our skills lay!   Early Years professional training encompasses theorists, engagement in play, brain development. We help grow brains of future generations of leaders - the paperwork is needed however who should take on this role?
Would we ask a bank manager to manage whilst having children to educate around them, would we ask a hairdresser to cut hair with children playing around them?  We feel its time to stand up for what you want to do, recognise your true potential and embrace what you want to do. If Admin is your thing then that's great make it count and find the role that suits you!

One of the most important things is that the team and family understand what they are trying to do to help make the child's life better.  The targets and actions should be realistic, this should be a natural process.

Here the Beckies talk about what can help you when you are looking for an early years space for your child.  The family are the first educator of the child and you are the advocate for the child. Would you like to stay and spend a lot of time in the setting you are looking at?
What is your instinct telling you? What does your child like to do, where do they like to play ? What environment are they most happy in.
You are the expert in your own child...
Settling children is very important never rush them, understand for the child that they need to feel safe, don't leave a child with people they don't know, create relationships for life. Listen to and observe what the child is telling you.
You need to choose the environment that suits your child and family. 
These are some things you might hear : Key Person - They will keep your child in mind, it takes time to build relationships but this person will be able to start helping you to do this straight away.
Google : Early Years Development Matters and have a look, this has some great information on what your child may be doing at their early years providers.
Think of starting a new job and how we want to be settled and get to know our colleagues, well its no different for a child, except that they don't always get a say in where they play. Observe how your child acts in different environments what are they trying to tell you?
