2 Kings 14: The Reign of Amaziah King of Judah | Amaziah sought the Lord, but not completely. He followed God's commands better than many kings but, as the book notes, he did not remove all forms of idolatry throughout his kingdom.

2 Kings 13: The Reign of Jehoahaz King of Israel | Jehoahaz and his son Jehoash failed to turn away from the evil that had been handed down to them and their reigns are fraught with conflict. At the end of Elisha's life, Jehoash visits him, seeking guidance. Elisha commands him to strike the ground with arrows, but Jehoash fails to do so zealously – which parallels his heart for God – and so only receives a brief reprieve from war rather than complete victory.

2 Kings 12: Joash Repairs the Temple | At this time, the Temple had fallen into a sorry state of repair and King Joash thought it necessary to order its restoration. Rather than spending money on gold and silver to put a shiny facade, the repairs were done by carpenters and masons, restoring the structural integrity of the Temple.
