  • Throwdown Ep. 65 - 2015 Year End Special
Welcome to another episode of Throwdown!
That's it, folks! 2015 is nearly over! This was a pretty wild year in gaming, so since this is the end of the year special, we wanted to reflect on some of the biggest stories that happened this year.
On this episode we discuss the whole drama between Hideo Kojima and Konami, which ultimately ended with Kojima joining forces with Sony Computer Entertainment. We also talk about E3 2015, which was basically a fan-fic story come to life with the reveals of Final Fantasy VII Remake, Shenmue III, and more. Our final main topic is on Kotaku being blacklisted by Bethesda and ostracized by Ubisoft, a story which split the gaming world in half and made us question what actual "journalism" is.
On top of those main topics, we also talk about Nintendo's further descent into irrelevance in 2015. We also discuss how Virtual Reality has flourished within the last year and how the technology is shaping up for 2016.
    ***
This is our last episode for the year. We're going to take a two week break to recharge the ol' batteries. We want to thank everyone for supporting us this past year and for continuing to support us in the future. 2015 was our biggest year so far thanks to you guys and we have plan to make 2016 even bigger. We hope you all will stay with us on this crazy ride!
This episode features: Tony Polanco (host), Emilio Lopez, Brian Munjoma, Brett Murdock, and Chris Sealy.

  • Throwdown Ep. 64 - The Great Backwards Compatibility Debate
PS Now vs Xbox 360 backwards compatibility. If you want to play older games on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, these are the main vehicles to do so (respectively). But which one is actually better? We break down each service’s pros and cons and decide which is the superior service to play previous-gen games on.
Our second main topic, which wasn’t supposed to be one initially, is about Final Fantasy VII Remake. We debate whether or not breaking the game up into multiple parts was a wise decision or not. This one, just like the other main topic, gets very heated.
Other topics discussed on this episode:
*November NPDs and how the PlayStation 4 beat the Xbox One
*Details of the Nintendo NX architecture emerge
*Yoichi Wada calls out Konami for their treatment of Hideo Kojima
*The controversy over Laura Bailey playing a black character in Uncharted 4
This episode features: Tony Polanco (host), Emilio Lopez, Brian Munjoma, Chris Sealy, Brett Murdock, and special guests: Reggie Butler (Weapon X), and Gerard Williams (HipHopGamer).
