The recruiting episode is finally here. We go over the USC Trojans and Notre Dame Fighting Irish 2021 recruiting classes. Despite his usual aversion to recruit talk, Greg gave Michael homework and had him watch everyone’s recruiting videos tp properly prepare for the episode. We start with USC who landed the top recruit in the nation Korey Foreman. We talk about what we are looking for on the tape, how to judge a player’s performance, position changes, and who we like. For the Trojans Michael is all in on quarterback Miller Moss, cornerback Prophet Brown and Joseph Manjack, the do it all receiver from Texas with a great name. The Fighting Irish recruits Greg has grown fond of are, high school Butkus award winner Prince Kollie and wide receiver Lorenzo Styles Jr. Two more great names. We also talk about new Notre Dame transfer quarterback Jack Coan and new defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman.

It’s another all Notre Dame Fighting Irish episode. With the Rose Bowl loss to Alabama still fresh, we have a lot to talk about. We start with Greg’s general outlook toward the program, and how it’s changed since we started the podcast. Once we get into the actually game, we hit all the major points, like when was it over, did Notre Dame have a chance, were the Fighting Irish aggressive enough, bright spots and the glaringly obvious talent gap between the two teams. After going over the game we talk about the aftermath for Notre Dame, and where they stand as a program in general.

The Alabama Crimson Tide defeated the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the College Football Playoffs. While the game is still fresh, Greg is joined by fellow Notre Dame fan Tim Norkus to talk about the loss to Alabama, mistakes by the coaching staff, the talent gap, and where the program goes from here. They aren’t too sad, because this is not a new thing, unfortunately.

In honor of the upcoming College Football Playoff, we preview the Notre Dame Fighting Irish’s game against the Alabama Crimson Tide. For the unaware, Alabama is a very good football team, and beating them would be a difficult task for any team not just Notre Dame. Greg kicks things off with his ideas for what the offense should be doing, and where they can try to be aggressive. As for the defense, it’s anyone’s guess how to stop Alabama, but keeping things in front of you is not a bad place to start. Just for good measure we throw in some special teams ideas, and then go over what scenarios during the game would make Greg feel positive.

The regular season is over for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the USC Trojans, but the postseason awards are upon us, and so was Christmas. We start with what Christmas is like when you have kids and some light potty training talk. Then we rattle of some of the post season awards and honors for Notre Dame players like Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, Kyle Hamilton and Ian Book to name a few. We also touch on 2020’s favorite topic miserable fans. Some Trojans also received postseason honors as well, most notably USC safety Talanoa Hufanga. There were also some other mentions that should leave USC fans optimistic. However, head coach Clay Helton continues to be uninspiring, as does the Trojans’ running game.

It was a rough weekend for the podcast, both the USC Trojans and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish lost their conference championship games. We start with Notre Dame, who was beat handily in their rematch with the Clemson Tigers. The Fighting Irish had some early miscues that they never recovered from. Notre Dame went from bad to worse and never even really came close. That’s OK because the Irish will still play in the college football playoffs. As for the Trojans, they couldn’t pull of another fourth quarter miracle against the Oregon Ducks. This was a hard game to watch, and since USC has opted out of playing a bowl game, a tough loss to end the season on. We go into the question of if this season was a success or failure. Spoiler alert, it was not a success. We also do some of the usual Clay Helton spiel after a USC loss.

Championship week is upon us. Both the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the USC Trojans will be playing in conference championship games this weekend. We start with Notre Dame who has a rematch with the Clemson Tigers. Greg disagrees with the national narrative, and asks why can’t the Fighting Irish beat Clemson again? Notre Dame has the confidence from already beating Clemson earlier in the season, and has no reason to believe they can’t do it again. Trevor Lawrence be damned. The Trojans will be playing at home in the Pac-12 title game against replacement team Oregon. The replacement Ducks will be going up against Talanoa Hufanga who is having himself an all world season. We also go on a brief tangent about undeserving Iowa State and then bring it back with a sobering conversation about how long the Clay Helton era will last.

It was rivalry week for the USC Trojans, but not the rivalry this podcast was built around, it was a game against cross town rivals, the UCLA Bruins. The Trojans needed more 4th quarter heroics from Kedon Slovis to pull out this victory, but as Michael has been saying all season, “you can’t go 6-0 without going 5-0”. Many USC fans are upset with the coaching staff and the administration even though the football team was victorious. Michael understands the complaints, but wants the fans to enjoy what is going on. Greg helps break down the safety play of Talanoa Hufanga, and we have another discussion about USC being discussed in the same breath as the College Football Playoffs. We end with an imaginary matchup of the Notre Dame offense vs. the Notre Dame Defense.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the USC Trojans both remain undefeated. Notre ended their regular season with a win over Syracuse. While the Trojans beat Washington State on a rare Sunday night game. The game started slowly for the Fighting Irish, but about halfway through Notre Dame started to run away with it. More important than the Fighting Irish win was Greg’s viral tweet about Jim Harbaugh, and what it felt like to be an internet star. We also discuss if this Notre Dame season was already a success. Unlike the Fighting Irish the Trojans jumped out to an insurmountable lead against Washington State and never looked back. It was the best start USC has had to a game in awhile. The passing game was firing on all cylinders. Wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown had four touchdowns in the first quarter. This was the most excited Michael has been about the Trojans in a while.

It was another big victory for the Notre Dame Fighting this weekend, and no game at all for the USC Trojans. The Fighting Irish defeated the North Carolina Tarheels handily. The defense made much hyped quarterback Sam Howell look pedestrian. Since this is our podcast, Greg goes in depth on the Kyle Hamilton targeting ejection. He also, takes this opportunity to call out the national pundits who thought Notre Dame might have been upset this weekend. We also talk the offensive line replacements and hamstrings. We wrap things up with some general discussion about how conferences like the Pac-12 and Big 10 could work around their lack of games.
