Timeless Wisdom

Simply put, in this episode I explore a mindset shift that I am actively making to take myself less seriously and see life as play.

When everything becomes work and obligation, we truly lose what it means to be free. When we tell ourself to “have fun” we feel under the obligation to have fun rather than just doing/being without expecting or forcing. This mindset cannot be taught or learned. It exists in all of us already. To embody it, one must un-learn what is currently known. Only then, will the spirit of play and fun exist.

I realize there is a lot we can learn from children if we observe more. The less authoritative we are, the more we can observe who we truly are through them. Perhaps we are the ones that can learn something from them rather than impose what we think we know.

I was called to share a challenge im currently dealing with. It seems like things are moving so slow and nothing has changed in the last couple of years. To just flat out say it; my mind is somewhere else in the future rather than in the present moment. Im very aware that iv already accomplished so much and so much better off currently than any point in my life. Yet my mind is always setting a new bar or hoping results arrive sooner. The challenge i face is; this avoids meaning and enjoyment of the process.

I share a story and some ways im creating a mindset shift to cultivate more meaning and fulfilment in the process versus the result or thinking my life will be better once i complete the goal. This is a change i believe is invaluable in life. Once i shift my focus from the result or chasing the bars i set for myself to focusing on the experience and the details, i will get more out of the journey. It will inevitably lead to smaller blessings and intricacies i would of missed if i was focused on solely the result, achievement or destination.

Tough decisions are inevitable in life. Do they always have to be so hard though? YES. YES, THEY DO. Theres no “hack” or “easy way” in this episode. They’re hard because if they were easy then they wouldn’t be called hard would they? The moral of this episode is to embrace discomfort, stick to your decisions + keep going , trusting your gut and use two specific versions of yourself as your counsellors when you don’t know what to do. You’ll have to decide to listen to this episode if you want the wisdom around decision making. Hopefully it’s not a hard decision for you! (See what i did there).

Sharing how going back to childhood brought back lost parts of myself and led me to answers on how i can live a life that’s truer to myself by embodying certain characteristics of my child self.

Life is tough. We are constantly told who we need to be. What we need to do to fit in. We end up doing so to protect ourselves or just simply survive and fulfill obligations the external world put onto us. It doesn’t have to be that way. Not anymore anyway. You have an opportunity to go back and bring back a part of your child self that you shunned away. Your inner child will appreciate it. Who knows, life might start to seem bright again. 😉
