  • #60 Nick Odom - Alligator Hunting, Conservation and Florida's Unique Ecosystems

Send the show a text here!

Growing up in Florida in a family of hunters and hunting/fishing myself has presented me with an opportunity to appreciate the amazing habitats and wild environments that the sunshine state has to offer. My good friend and avid hunter Nick and I talk about the beauty of our home state, the essential role of hunting in conservation and how our place in this incredible ecosystem can benefit or harm every link in the food chain.

I hope conversations like this can help bridge the divide between hunters and non-hunters and illuminate the respect and passion that we have for the animals we share this great land (and water) with.

  • #59 Russia Invades Ukraine, An Afghanistan Veteran's Perspective - Spencer Karam

Send the show a text here!

This morning Russia began an invasion of Ukraine. Events are unfolding rapidly and new information is constantly flowing in. Spencer discusses his experience working with multinational teams while a Marine serving in Kabul, Afghanistan and we talk about what role we think the United States should play in this major world event. The perspective his experience brings to the conversation is one I value and is worth considering while watching this all unfold.

  • #58 From Venezuelan Asylum Seeker to American Firefighter/Paramedic

Send the show a text here!

Armando Rivas was a paramedic and nurse in Venezuela before political turmoil and violence between the government and it's citizens drove him to seek asylum in the United States. We talk about the brutal communistic policies that propelled his home to civil unrest and shooting in the streets, evading pirates in the Amazon with a newborn's family and the fulfillment he's found in continuing his passion of helping others as a firefighter/paramedic in Central Florida.

Armando and his brother also own/operate JRZ Marketing, with Armando dedicating personal attention to first responder accounts. https://www.jrzmarketing.com/

  • #57 Singapore's Healthcare Crisis

Send the show a text here!

My friend in Singapore talks with me about the worsening healthcare situation, the restrictive measures meant to curb infection rates and the negligent way their government treats the very healthcare workers they urge citizens to praise. Our conversation is a fascinating look into what many would consider an Orwellian nightmare come to life.

  • #56 Brushfires of Freedom

Send the show a text here!

Samuel Adams once said "It does not take a majority to prevail... but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men."

My good friend Chris comes on to talk with me about current events and the way politicians, mainstream media and other corporate interests manipulate information in efforts to control the narrative and use shady tactics to keep the American people scared and angry at each other instead of turning our ire towards those who truly deserve it: corrupt government officials and their crony corporate sponsors.

  • #55 The State of EMS

Send the show a text here!

Emergency Medical Services, like all facets of healthcare during this pandemic, has been hit hard. Low staffing and high call volumes have plagued EMS since before anyone knew what COVID was, I myself left the first responder world behind at the end of 2019 due to burn out and mental health concerns, but now it's worse than ever. This conversation with Michael Marasco, a national representative for an international organization that negotiates for EMTs and paramedics to have better working conditions, pay and the support they need to provide us with emergency care, sheds light on how your local EMS providers may be struggling and what you can do to get involved with helping them help you.

  • #54 A Veteran's Thoughts on the Afghanistan Pull Out

Send the show a text here!

I wanted to know what somebody who had boots on the ground in Afghanistan thought about the mess that is the United State's withdrawal from the country. My buddy Spencer spent years overseas as a Marine and knows the city of Kabul better than most, so I was thankful when he agreed to come back and talk with me again about this important event.
