With all the negativity surrounding mental illness I wanted to share a different perspective of the silver linings that come with these challenging conditions.

COVID-19 is a bummer, and it has a lot of people bummed out, clinically speaking. There's been a huge rise of mental illness since the pandemic began. I talk about how it's effected me lately, new science on the topic and I even delve into politics in this episode.

One of my best friends Carlos and I started playing D&D last year and we are hooked. We talk about how much fun we're having growing closer to our friends every week, how important that kind of companionship is to stave off depression and how it's important to check on your happy friends. We touch on difficult topics but this is a lighthearted, fun conversation. I always have a blast talking with Carlos and we'll be debating the last season of Game of Thrones in the upcoming weeks. I apparently hold a controversial opinion of it.

This episode is more of an audio diary as I talk about the last three weeks of being depressed, my panic attacks yesterday and how difficult it was for me to overcome the desire to not seek help. But I did, and so can you! I talk about some of the things that helped me and I hope they can help you too!

I talk to a former law enforcement officer about the current state of policing and get his views on the situation in America in the hopes we can find a way to bridge the divide between citizens and those who take the oath to serve and protect us.
I'm aware there are some connection issues during our conversation and I apologize, I've been trying to record audio and video on a poor internet connection, so from here on out I'll be recording only audio until I find a more stable solution that allows video as well without a compromise in audio quality.

My friend Dustin reached out to me when he heard I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, and having been diagnosed himself when he was 18 he talks with me about his personal struggles, triumphs and coping mechanisms he's learned about while dealing with his challenges. This is a great conversation that I'm incredibly proud of, and I'm proud of Dustin for having it with me. We're changing society's perspective of men with mental illness one conversation at a time. Welcome to the mental health revolution.
