  • Relationship tings

Our generation has grown up with social media, it’s like we are the first to truly go through this. It has had a significant impact on how we now view and navigate relationships. It has added a significant twist on an already complex interaction. What dynamics do you think social media has brought into relationships?

  • Fear of Failure

So many of us defeat ourselves before we start. The self doubt, the fear of rejection and the thought of not being good enough are thoughts that play into keeping us from fulfilling our full potential.

Have you ever been so afraid of failing at something that you decided not to try it at all? Or has a fear of failure meant that, subconsciously, you undermined your own efforts to avoid the possibility of a larger failure?

Many of us have probably experienced this at one time or another. The fear of failing can be immobilizing – it can cause us to do nothing, and therefore resist moving forward. But when we allow fear to stop our forward progress in life, we're likely to miss some great opportunities along the way.

  • Stay in yo lane

Catching the green-eyed monster after surfing through social media is not uncommon. Witnessing friends going on vacations, seeking new opportunities, getting engaged, or making lots of money can sometimes make us feel inferior. We then sit around and mourn over our “horrible” lives without even thinking about how blessed we really are. The prevalence of social media is to blame for this madness because it has us all thinking we are not good enough based off a picture or post that we know nothing about. Everyone projects only positivity on social media. Everyone wants to seem like they are living the best and most happy life, but we do not know the story behind their media accounts. This feeling seems to be ever-occuring in today’s culture and I would like to share with you how to overcome those feelings of inferiority and understand why it is important to only worry about yourself.

  • Dating tings

We’ve grown up with a transient lifestyle, commitments can be difficult for us to make. This comes from the society and culture we third culture kids often find ourselves in. We live in international communities where people rarely stay for more than a couple of years. We are constantly saying “goodbye.” We’d rather date multiple people at once because it’s much easier and more thrilling than just seeing one person. We’d rather tweet or post on Facebook with indirect hints how angry we are with someone than directly confronting them because we won’t have to go through the bullshit couples do. We’re all playing these games just to see who would climb the ladder the highest and win.

  • Ocsober

Sober October is usually a month without drinking, but its meaning  has been broadened to an overall healthy lifestyle for the month of October as the holidays approach. The holidays are often a time people neglect their diet and exercise regimen, and using the month of October to help reset your body, and prepare it for the holidays is a smart way to mitigate some of the damage that inevitably takes place over the indulgent holiday season. It also helps clear your mind and reset your body before the winter months, when the "winter blues" have been known to set in.
