  • For Mark: "Damn!"

Who doesn’t know what it’s like to be sad? Sad Bitch Sunday’s saved my life because we need to be witnessed in our pain just as much as we need to be witnessed in our joy.

We lost a good one this month and this is for him. This is also for everyone who knows how hard it is to drag yourself back into the light and for everyone who shows up to hold space during someone else’s hour of need.

We will never know the true breadth and depth of our own impact but I can I promise you it’s greater than you realize. I love you. I see you. I’m always available for SBH. Thank you for seeing me.

  • Labor Day 2021

Thank you @amypoehlersmartgirls for giving us the wisdom and power of “Good for her, not for me”.

Since the dawn of time women have been blamed, abused, persecuted, and silenced. I stand firmly in that it must stop and we should NEVER be doing that to one another.

Seeing the abortion rights of women in Texas decimated is a blow to women everywhere. As women and femme identifying souls we must rise up and be the change this world needs.

If you’re triggered by this, ask yourself why.

  • The Bias Of Believing

It’s a natural part of being human… Seeking proof of what we already believe. This is why so many of us stay stuck repeating the same patterns and why some of us continue to support blatantly corrupt politicians. It is exhausting to consciously and critically question and change our long held beliefs about life, other people, and our selves. Exhausting but worth it. 💫

We can’t change our beliefs overnight but what we can do is lean into the generous and kind and helpful parts of our identity. Small acts of kindness outside of our comfort zone will lead to greater awareness and awareness will lead to greater change.

We came here to disrupt and to create change. There is no voice to small to be heard!

  • Fat Phobia And How It Effects Everyone

Today’s Pass The Tiny Mic guest, @marielle.or.something is truly AMAZING! This episode is so close to my heart, y’all... If you’ve ever looked at yourself in a mirror and felt something negative well up inside of you then today’s pass the tiny mic is for you- Mar’s wisdom👏is👏for👏you. Honestly, it’s for everyone!

This conversation hits! As someone who grew up with nicknames like ‘Shamu’ and ‘fat girl’, I internalized everything I was learning about what was deserving of love and acceptance so I became someone that chased an ideal or a standard instead of someone that embraced my own worth and value. Mar comes through with so much wisdom and advise on ways to celebrate the bodies we’re in now and love what they do for us🎉🙏❤️

It takes awareness and A LOT of sustained effort to unlearn untruths. Untruths like: “I’m only worthy of love and acceptance if I look a certain way”.

Like everything we talk about on Tiny Mic Micro News it takes awareness and sustained effort to unlearn untruths and it all starts with us.

“Self acceptance is what leads to the acceptance of others.” -Marielle LaCosse

Get curious and never be ashamed of your light. We need you here, your voice matters.

Check out the whole convo over on YouTube!

Extras… Meaning books and humans we spoke about during the convo that inspire and inform a new truth:

  • The Other Elephant In The Room

    Love.

    😷
We recognize it when we witness it. When we feel it. When we act from it.
    💉
The only way out of this pandemic… Is… Masks or vaccines. Period.

  • Ableism

The real struggle for our disabled communities is around ACCESS to things and not one’s ability to do things.

“He didn’t overcome his disability and climb a mountain, he overcame structurally ableist obstacles.”
    - @dr_ramoray (Max)

Today we’re talking about ableism and we’re getting the opportunity to hear form an amazing human being named Max. Max is a happily gay, happily married, multiply-disabled expat who is fueled by equal parts rage and compassion and I LOVE IT!!

  • This Isn't Faith

Faith. Religion. Spirituality. These things should never ask that you abandon your decency or place your comfort above another’s life.

  • Why Is That Brave?!?!

“I don't think people realize how much strength it takes to pull your own self out of a dark place mentally. So if you've done that today or any day, I'm proud of you.”

  • The New Rebellion

    🌈🌈🌈🌈

I’ve been working on something I’m calling Pass the Tiny Mic. If you watch my show then you know how important it is to me to learn about and be aware of perspectives other than your own. You know how important I think it is to hear the stories and experiences of folks you do not know.

As human beings we don’t typically think about the things that don’t apply to us or don’t affect us and that’s the problem IMO. In an effort to expand my own awareness and knowledge of things that don’t always apply to me I’m going straight to the source! I’m talking to people about their lives and hearing their message.

My guest today is my dear friend, Haven. Their pronouns are they/them and we go deep into gender identity, sexuality, and what it means to be gender nonconforming.
