But are our universities still encouraging young people to question accepted wisdom — and to challenge ideas they disagree with?

Critical thinking is the ability to question information, examine the evidence, spot assumptions and biases, and reach a reasoned conclusion rather than simply accepting something as true.

In short: Don’t just ask “What do I think?” — ask “Why do I think it, and is the evidence good enough?”
